Kyo Kusanagi is one of the main protagonists in The King of Fighters video game series by SNK. He is the martial artist who is the son of Saisyu Kusanagi and Shizuka Kusanagi. He is also an arch-rival of Iori Yagami and love interest of Yuki.
He is voiced by Masahiro Nonaka between his debut, King of Fighters XIII and King of Fighters All Star in the audio, Ryōtarō Okiayu in The King of Fighters '94 Dengenki drama CD, Tomaki Maemo for the rest of his appearances, and Andrew Roth in the English versions of the Maximum Impact series. His live-action actor was Sean Farris in The King of Fighters movie, and is also voiced by Tomokazu Sugita (best known for voicing Chrom and Gintoki Sakata from Gintama) in the Japanese version of the movie and CR The King of Fighters, and by Peter Von Gomm in The King of Fighters XII.

What Makes Him Admirable?[]
- When he was a kid, his father, Saisyu, martial arts master, taught him how to perform Kusanagi Style of the ancient martial arts with personal Chinese kempo. After learning those skills, he joined all the KOF tournament with his teammates Benimaru and Daimon despite attending in the high school.
- Upon learning that his father was wounded by Rugal, the host of KOF Tournament, he eventually fights him with the help of Benimaru and Daimon. Following Rugal's defeated, he and his friends are quick to escape.
- He saved Daimon and Benimaru from being shot by Vice during the boat. When Saisyu was brainwashed by Rugal, he time to facing his father and help him get rid of Rugal's control.
- He helps Iori and Chizuru to defeating Goenitz, Orochi, and New Face Team.
- He's pestered by fellow high school student, Shingo Yabuki, to trained him how to be creation of his fires. Despite the setback, Kyo wants to mentor him as a means of received free foods.
- After reuniting with Shingo, Daimon, and Benimaru to be rejoined KOF tournament, he helps defeat Zero, Igniz, Mukai, Magaki, Saiki, and Evil Ash.
- While abiding Shingo's several requests and missions, he joins with his partner and his rival to stop Ash Crimson.

- Throughout the series, he was strongly arrogant, outright, bold, envious, determined, pragmatic, and competitive towards Iori.
- He defeats Rugal and the other villains with his flaming power.
- He is often to be protested with Ryu from the most crossover games.
- After being taken by the NESTS syndicate and his DNA was used to making all the beings for their purposes, he awakens one day to find himself surrounded by bizarre gadgets and needles. In spite of defeating Krizalid, he eventually to reunited with Shingo and Benimaru as the NESTS cartel are begin to collapse.
- However, upon Ash disappearing and Kyo's team victory to the other tournament, Iori arrives to challenge Kyo under their chances. Kyo is right to fights with his rival for outcome.
