Kevin is a major character in the Despicable Me franchise, serving as a supporting character in Despicable Me 2, a minor character in Despicable Me 3, the main protagonist of Minions and one of the three deuteragonists (alongside Stuart and Bob) of Minions: The Rise of Gru.

He is voiced by Pierre Coffin, who also voiced Mel in the same franchise.

What Makes Him Admirable?[]

When his tribe wanted a master to serve, he was the one to remind them not to give up and continue the search.
He tried to apologize to Scarlet Overkill after accidentally upsetting her by allowing Bob to temporarily become the king of London.
He rescued Bob, Stuart and the rest of his tribe from Scarlet Overkill.
He, Bob and Stuart acted as paternal guardians toward Gru when he was a child, as they took him to the movies, arcade, and to get ice cream after school.
When Gru was kidnapped by Wild Knuckles, Kevin was the most determined out of all of the Minions to rescue him, even though he fired them for a mistake Otto made.
He, Stuart and Bob trained with Master Chow to become better fighters so he can protect Gru from danger.
He defeated Belle Bottom and the Vicious 6 after they tried to kill Gru and Wild Knuckles.
He helped Dr. Nefario to revert the Minions back to their original forms after he himself was reverted.
Overall, his bravery and selflessness is the main reason why the Minions are in a happy place in the current day.
Despite starting off as an On & Off character, he ultimately chooses to stay good as he reforms with the other minions in Despicable Me 4.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

Like the other Minions, Kevin is very mischievous and incompetent, as he has several acts of mischief and incompetence in his journey to find his new master, tried to hit Jerry on the head while playing golf with him, and let Jerry go when Jerry was being beamed away by an unidentified object (actually Nefario's spaceship) and smugly waved goodbye, without showing any remorse.
He took legitimate enjoyment out of watching the guards inappropriately dancing and becoming nude and kissing other Minions.
