Kakashi Hatake is a major character in the Naruto anime and manga series and a supporting character in the Boruto series. He is a Jonin and has earned widespread renown and fear as the Copy Ninja due to his ability to copy nearly all offensive techniques due to his Sharingan. Eventually, he became the mentor to Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha and Sakura Haruno.
He was voiced by Kazuhiko Inoue in the Japanese version and by Dave Wittenberg in the English version of the anime.

What Makes Him Admirable?[]
- Although he used to be callous on his teammates, he gave up on this after talking to Obito, becoming a ninja who prioritized his teammates over his mission.
- He was often times a jerk to his allies, but subverted all of them by the moment he became the Sixth Hokage.
- Saved Rin Nohara and tried to save Obito from the Rock Ninja.
- Refused to kill Rin after the Mist Ninja implanted Three-Tails in her to destroy Konoha. Although he did end up killing her, it was only due to Rin jumping in his path when he was trying to kill a Mist Ninja, which ended up severely traumatizing him and haunting him for years.
- Rejected Danzo's orders to kill Hiruzen Sarutobi after seeing his incorruptible nature, and saved Kinoe from Danzo.
- Tried to stop Orochimaru from leaving the village.
- Although he rejected many students while being an Academy Jonin, it was only because the Genin disregarded their teammates due to the mission.
- Accepted Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura as his students after seeing their teamwork.
- Protected Tazuna from Zabuza, Haku and Gato.
- Released the genjutsu inflicted by the Sound and Sand ninja during their invasion of Konoha.
- Fought Sound and Sand Ninja and repelled them from Konoha, ending the invasion.
- Fought Itachi and Kisame to stop them kidnapping Naruto.
- He stopped Naruto and Sasuke's attacks from colliding on the rooftop, saving them from severely injuring or potentially killing one another. He then chastises Sasuke for using the Chidori at full power against Naruto.
- When Sakura cries over Naruto and Sasuke fighting, Kakashi comforts her and assures Sakura that Naruto and Sasuke would be back to their normal selves very soon.
- He tries to talk down Sasuke from pursuing vengeance, and would have succeeded if not for the intervention of the Sound Four.
- When the Sasuke Retrieval Team takes too long to return from their mission, Kakashi decides to head out and search for Naruto and Sasuke himself to stop their fight.
- When he comes across the defeated Naruto, he takes him back to the Hidden Leaf Village to get him treated.
- Participated in the mission to save Gaara from Akatsuki.
- Stopped Deidara from trying to kidnap Naruto.
- Helped Team 10 pursue Hidan and Kakuzu to stop them terrorizing the Ninja world.
- Fought Pain and saved several Konoha people, even dying to stop Pain from killing Choza and Choji, although he gets better after Nagato sacrificed himself to undo his mistakes.
- Stopped Sasuke from rampaging across the Land of Iron.
- Tried to reason with Sasuke about the futility of attacking Konoha.
- Sealed the 7 Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist to prevent them causing more damaged.
- Helped seal Zabuza and Haku in order to respect their memories.
- Accepted Kurama as an ally after Naruto manages to redeem him.
- After Tobi is revealed as Obito Uchiha, Kakashi tries to talk him down from continuing the war.
- Helps defeat Obito alongside rest of the Shinobi Alliance.
- Tries to sacrifice himself to save Naruto from Kaguya's Ash-Killing Bones.
- Fought against Kaguya and Black Zetsu and helped seal both of them.
- After ascending as the Sixth Hokage, Kakashi brought on an era of peace along with greater positive relations with the other four Great Nations and the minor nations.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- His difficulty in training his students has often caused them to fail miserably with his extremely challenging tasks that go past the standards of what student should do in passing.
- At least in the Anime, it's been implied that the reason why Hiruzen recruited him to be a teacher in the first place was out of coping mechanism on the loss of his entire team, but this later showed that he wasn't quite meant to be a teacher but more strictly as a martial shinobi warrior, meaning he wasn't into teaching students who needed proper training to enhance their skills and abilities and the implication to why he was tough on them was to make sure he didn't want anything more to do with them as while teaching wasn't his main aspect, he wasn't incapable in helping them progress either.
- He was not a very attentive teacher with Sakura, as despite being his student, he was completely unaware of Sakura's new abilities she gained while training under Tsunade for more than two years.
- Unlike the majority of the teams who sticked with each other in not only Part I but Part II, Kakashi failed to keep his team together due to Sasuke's personal vengeance with Itachi and some neglect on watching over Naruto and Sakura, making the team separate from each other.
- During his tenure as an assassin, Kakashi has killed several people, of which he doesn't show any remorse for.
