He is the former Legate of Caeser's Legion, where he would be burned and thrown to death for his loss of Hoover Dam. For months, he walked through the wasteland to find new Canaan and help the Dead Horses from White Legs.
He is voiced by Keith Szarabajka.
His Good Rankings[]
What Makes Him Admirable?[]
- Worked with the Followers of the Apocalypse as an interpreter, where he was known for helping defend against the tribes of New Canaan.
- Helped the Blackfoot Tribe by teaching them fighting tactics, weapon maintenance, and the creation of weapons.
- They would eventually win against the tribes and hail Caesar as their leader.
- While he was a terrible person at the time, he didn't deserve to be burned and thrown to his death by his best friend, Edward Sallow.
- Despite all this, he redeemed himself by forgiving Edward for what he did and defending New Canaan from the murderous White Legs.
- After the New Canaan massacre, he became the War Chief of the Dead Horses to team up with the sorrows.
- Since he was the War Chief, he deployed scouts out into the wasteland, which would save multiple people, including the Courier.
- To protect the dead horses from the taboo of pre-war buildings, he would send the courier to retrieve items so that if they needed to retreat, they could.
- No matter what ending you choose, Joshua will help the courier.
- If you help the sorrows by leaving Zion, Joshua will help The Courier kill White Legs so that the sorrows can escape.
- In his ending, he will help hunt down Salt-Upon-Wounds and the White Legs so that New Canaan is safe from them forever. He can also spare Salt if The Courier convinces him.
- His ending also funded the Happy Trails caravan by supplying them with enough money to give resources to the tribes of Zion, showing that his lethality is for the greater good.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He is very lethal, as he has no problem with killing White Legs, he also, on multiple occasions, says that he enjoys it, and it is clear that it is not just vigilantism but revenge.
- He will personally execute two white legs before either fighting Salt-Upon-Wounds, executing him, or sparing him.
- His loyalty to his family blinds his ideals as he drops his facade of only killing when it is necessary, and has no problem hunting people down, such as the Courier.
- The help he does for the New Canaanites is slightly selfish, as he believes that the religious grounds of Zion belong to God and the Sorrows shouldn't die arrogant.
- Although he was extremely ruthless in the past, there are signs of his past self lingering, such as his explicit orders to show no quarter to anyone during his path, the possibility for him to effectively become the Malpais Legate again albeit in league with the Dead Horses should be execute Salt-Upon-Wounds,
