Johnny English is the titular main protagonist of the trilogy of the same name.
He is a MI7 intelligence agent who dreams of becoming the Agent One of the MI7 agency. However, when all of the MI7 agents are killed in action, he is sent to missions tasked by the Pegasus of MI7.
He is portrayed by Rowan Atkinson.

What Makes Him Admirable?[]
Johnny English[]
- He took responsibility for protecting the Queen's crown jewels and tried to prevent the thieves from stealing the crown jewels, only to fail.
- Chased after Dieter Klein and Klaus Vendetta after he noticed that they stole the Crown Jewels.
- While he did defy Pegasus' orders not to interrupt Pascal Sauvage, it was because the former was unaware that Sauvage stole the crown jewels and Johnny English tried his best to stop Sauvage until Pegasus showed up.
- While he did humiliate the Archbishop of Canterbury by revealing his naked butt in public, he genuinely thought it was a decoy and showed shock for doing this.
- When he was accidentally crowned king, he ordered Sauvage to be arrested for treason and theft.
Johnny English Reborn[]
- He felt extreme remorse for failing to protect the president of Mozambique, going as far to train in Tibet to recover from his guilt for five years.
- Neutralized an assassin to grab the key to Vortex's ultimate goal.
- While he ignored Colin saying that Ambrose was the third member of Vortex, which caused him to be suspended from MI7, it was because he was manipulated by Ambrose that he was innocent and when he was framed as a member of Vortex, he apologized and reconciled with Tucker.
- When he accidentally consumed a drug, instead of giving in to the drug, he tried his best to fight Ambrose, only to lose consciousness.
- Defeated Simon Ambrose with an umbrella mission launcher, preventing him and Vortex from assassinating the Chinese Premier.
- Although he attacked the Queen, he genuinely thought she was the Killer Cleaner disguised as a queen. Not to mention that the Killer Cleaner was about to kill him by disguising as the Queen. When he found out that he attacked the real queen, he was shocked.
Johnny English Strikes Again[]
- As a geography teacher, he taught some kids to be spies, always being proud that they have improved in their skills.
- He prevented Bough from eating a Jelly Baby disguised as an explosive, saying that one bite will "blow your head and the car roof".
- Although he assaulted multiple people during his VR test, such as hitting a person in the library, pushing an 82-year old grandmother to the streets and assaulting a bakery employee with two baguettes, he was completely unaware of the fact that he did said actions and he thought that he was locked onto the VR walking zone, making this unintentional.
- He exposed Jason Volta by recording footage of him hacking the London Eye.
- Prevented Jason from killing Ophelia by interrupting their meeting.
- He had Captain Lydia Bough launch a missile to Jason's ship, the Dot Calm, preventing Jason from taking over Europe's internet in the process.
- Defeated Jason Volta by throwing an iPad at his neck and destroying Xandar, saving the world from being endangered.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He is extremely incompetent, as he usually fails to expose villains such as Sauvage and Volta, which leads to Pegasus removing him from the mission on the former and the Prime Minister to scold him for accusing his supposed assistant for the G-12 meeting on the latter. Another example is where he is about to expose Sauvage's ultimate goal, only to play a DVD of him lip-syncing ABBA's Does Your Mother Know in his bathroom and only wearing his underclothes.
- Given that he is a parody of James Bond, it is obvious he is incompetent.
- He is also very reckless, as he burned a restaurant to the ground (although it was unintentional), threw a missile at a group of French cyclists, knocking Colonel Chevenix with a bottle when he was supposed to guard the Crown Jewels and failing to secure the area where Agent One's funeral was held, killing the remaining MI7 agents in the process. This makes his indirectly responsible for the nigh-genocide of the MI7 agents.
- He is also arrogant, as he does missions to become MI7's Agent One, which makes him an anti-hero.
- Despite congratulating his students on their spying missions, he lets them touch dangerous weapons disguised as normal objects, which leads to a student getting tranquilized and another student getting choked by the necklace. It is also implied that the Headmaster got his head blew up after he ate a Jelly Baby disguised as an explosive.
- When his car ran out of fuel, he ordered Bough to push the car all the way to a hotel while he sat in the car doing nothing and he showed no remorse for this.
