Jonathan Bennett, better known as John Bennett is the deuteragonist of the Ted duology, serving as the main protagonist of Ted, and the deuteragonist of Ted 2. He is Ted's best friend, Lori Collins' former husband and Sam Leslie Jackson's boyfriend.

- When he was a child, he tried to save a squirrel he accidentally shot with his play gun.

- He and Ted took care of his cousin Blair while she was staying with them.
- He and Ted pretended to be Clive's dad and helped him get his grades up.
- He got his mom a teaching job at his school.
- He told the entire school he's a virgin to impress Bethany.
Ted[]
- He tried to keep Ted as his best friend while also continuing to have a good relationship with Lori.
- He helped Ted in getting a job.
- He went of his way to save Ted when he learned that he was kidnapped by Donny and Robert.
- He defeated Robert.
- He helped in trying to reanimate Ted after Donny killed him.
Ted 2[]
- He helped Ted in getting sperm so he and Tammy-Lynn could have a child.
- He helped in defending Ted when he lost his rights due to the government believing that he wasn't a person.
- He saved Ted from being cut open by Donny.
- He saved Ted from getting hit by a Starship Enterprise model and taking the hit for Ted, nearly sacrificing himself in the process.
- His actions would lead to Ted gaining his rights due to the fact that Patrick Megihan decided to defend him after he saw John almost giving his life for Ted.
- He gave Ted and Tammy-Lynn's child a teddy bear so that he may bring him to life after he grows up.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He has many jerkish and Kick The Dog moments, mostly towards Ted, such as:
- After Lori almost broke up with him, John blamed Ted for this due to spending more time with Ted than Lori and convincing him to get out on several occasions while with Lori, with him saying that he preferred to have a teddy ruxpin rather than Ted when he was a child.
- He told the lawyer that was against Ted in court that he was a loser and that he hoped his children got cancer, while he does apologize, it's only because the judge threatened to put him out of the court.
- When looking for Ted and Sam Jones sees him, he gets angry for thinking he was responsible for breaking his car's window, and instead of apologizing, he tells Jones "f*ck your car", causing Sam Jones to attack John.
- He has multiple very mischievous moments, such as:
- Hitting a biker with a rock just for fun and causing him to crash with another biker.
- Joking about a man who was insulting a waitress and then being happy when Sam put a peanut on his pants.
- It's mentioned by Patrick Megihan that John was arrested for using drugs.
- He sometimes refused to help Lori and deciding to stay away from her when she was taking off one of Ted's hooker's feces.
- He has an unhealthy addiction to sexual activities that even Ted has expressed disgust to when discovering his laptop and John himself admitting that he has a problem.
