Inconsistently Admirable Wiki

Jin Kazama is the main protagonist of the Tekken franchise, debuting in Tekken 3. He is the son of Jun Kazama and Kazuya Mishima (the latter is Jin's arch-nemesis), the grandson of both Heihachi and Kazumi Mishima, the half-nephew of Lars Alexandersson, the adoptive nephew of Lee Chaolan and Reina, and the great-grandson of Jinpachi Mishima. Jin is determined to make the bad things right by defeating his father and saving the world from danger.

His Good Ranking[]

What Makes Him Admirable?[]

  • When he was born, he always loved his mother and grew up to be very fond of her.
  • After thinking that the Ogre (that was unleashed by Heihachi) murdered Jun Kazama, Jin swore to avenge her, showing that Jin is selfless and will not let anyone harm his mother.
  • Despite having a rivalry with Heihachi, Jin asked him for help to find his mother and rescue her.
  • He sent a message to his close friend Ling Xiaoyu to be aware of the Zaibatsu.
  • When the fourth tournament was coming up, Jin agreed to join it not out of pragmatism, but to avenge his mother and defeat his grandfather Heihachi.
  • He was terrified about his own Devil Gene (something that Kazuya and Heihachi both have), and he decided to embark on a journey to vanquish the evil within him.
  • He defeated his great-grandfather Jinpachi Mishima (Heihachi's father) and his own Devil form, and inherited the Mishima Zaibatsu as a reward in return.
  • He almost sacrificed his life to stop Azazel.
  • In the seventh game, he vows to end the war that Kazuya allowed to continue. He also states that he will kill his father Kazuya Mishima and save the world from complete destruction.
  • Despite being a villain in Tekken 6, it was revealed that Jin had good intentions while committing his crimes, unlike Kazuya who is a pragmatist.
  • He sheds his corrupting factors that he had in the sixth game over time, becoming a more protective, selfless, and determined person who is willing to save anyone in trouble.
  • He defeated Kazuya in Tekken 8, while sparing him so that his mother could finish the job.
  • Despite the high admirable standards in Tekken, Jin still stands out due to defeating Jinpachi Mishima, getting rid of his Devil gene, sparing Heihachi when he could have killed him, defeating the ancient Ogre and swearing to avenge his mother.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

  • In 6, he became a fallen hero and worked together with his father, Kazuya (a Near Pure Evil), to commit crimes and spread misery across the world, and despite having good intentions, even though he is the Big Good of the Tekken series, his crimes are way too heinous for him to be Pure Good or Near Pure Good.
  • He can be arrogant and lethal at times, and his moments of being prideful in himself and attacking people without a second thought are too recurring and severe so he cannot be Near Pure Good.
  • He subconsciously created the Devil Jin persona to be as malevolent as he was, such as hospitalizing Hwoarang, due to his own self-loathing and continued rejection of his other self.

Trivia[]

  • While Jin is Inconsistently Admirable, his father, mother and grandfather are Near Pure Evil, Near Pure Good and Inconsistently Heinous respectively.
  • He is so far the only Tekken character to be Inconsistently Admirable.
  • There's a possibility his status might change in the future entries since in Tekken 8 he clearly started to show more remorseful on his actions.
