James Menezes Five Junior, better known by Jimmy Five or simply James, is one of the four main characters of the Monica's Gang franchise. He is the best friend of Smudge, and the rival-turned-boyfriend (and later husband) of Monica Souza.
A mischievous boy who lives in the Lemon Tree neighbouthood, Jimmy usually mocks and makes bad jokes on Monica and her friends, though they also team up and act as friends many times. As a teen, Jimmy is much more mature, and a true friend of Moncia and the rest of the gang, growing up over his mischievous antics. He is a very self-centred and arrogant person, but also a caring person towards his friends, who is literally willing to die for them. His Horseman of the Apocalypse arch-nemesis is the Flying Donkey.
He was voiced by the late Isaura Gomes from 1976-1982 and by Angélica Santos from 1982 to today.

What Makes Him Admirable?[]
In General[]
- His whole reason to be bad and mischievous towards Moncia is that he didn't want to admit he liked her and tried to get her attention, and once he understood his feelings better, he stopped.
- Despite claiming she is annoying and useless, he loves his siter and helps and supports her in every situation.
- Ins spite of his arrogant personality, he has helepd people in need in everyday situations multiple random times when he had nothing to gain, showing he still has althruism inside himself, and is overall a flawed, yet extremly loyal friend, who'd do anything to help his friends, and proved mroe than once he's willing to die for them and for the greater good.
Comics[]
- Helped in Doreen's plan to dispollute the town.
- Helped prevent Captain Fray from polluting the entire world, leaving it in horrible conditions to humans to live there, and conquering it, along with the rest of the gang.
- Helped Captain Fray stop the Myusterious Nameless Villain from altering the timeline and becoming an evil overlord.
- He, more than once, stopped mocking her and helped Monica get over some problem when she was upset with something
- Helped Maggy deeat Viviane the Witch.
- Saved the world from the Little Green Aliens in two occasions.
- Helped saving Christmas more than once, such as helping the Christmas Spirit with his love problems and helping find the Twelve Symbols of Christmas, that were stolen by Captain Popsicle.
- He helped solve the mistery of the Island in Quite Lost, and to defeat Captain Popsicle.
Monica Teen[]
- He accepted the duty of protector of the Earth his father passed to him, along with Moncia, Maggy and Smudge.
- When he found the magical notebook called Laugh Note, he tried to use it to end bad-humor and grumpiness, and while stripping people's bad emotions isn't a good thing and prevent them from being truly good or evil, his intentions were pure and he wanted the world to live in peace.
- Defeated Yuka, the Witch, who tried to conquer the world.
- Helped Monica find self-steem and get over her arrogance to fight the Alien Invaders
- Defeated the ID monsters, creautres born of each human's darkest side of personality.
- Defeated his own manipulative ID and freed the girls from his brainwashing.
- Aided a little bit in saving Marina's 15th birthday from Viviane the Witch.
- Pretended to be Penha's boyfriend, and despite it causing a heartbreak to Moncia, he did it to protect her form the incrminating video Penha had of her invading a house, that could be used to arrest her.
- He tried to give the Lake Girl her skull, as he thought she was a victim, and he didn't know she'd destroy the world with the skull.
- Sacrificed his life-force to stop Berenice and the Lake Girl form destroying the world.
- Accepted Moncia don't wanting to talk with him, as he in fact deserved it.
- Helped defeat his own twisted, alternate counterpart from another universe who enslaved his friends and conquered the world, and prevented him from doing the same with the normal world.
- Helped Monica, Penha and the others defeat the White Horse of Decay, and freed the hospital from the Reverse Tower.
- Helped defeat Dr. McClean and his robots, by creating a plan to do it.
- Undid the dystopic alternate timeline created by Doctor Spam.
- Defeated Simas in the Dimensional Duel, therefore saving his and his friends's memories from being erased.
- He won an universal race, in which the winner decides the fate of the universe.
- Prevented Yuka from returning.
What makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He is extremly jerkish, making fun of his friends very often, and even if he tries to better himself in Teen, he still has a very high recrod of acting like an idiot in inappropriate times, and not always apologizing.
- He is too prideful, as he often thinks of himself higher than most poeple and sometimes even underestimate them because of this.
- He has shown some notable corruptability, enough to be considered On & Off, as he almost became a villain in Umbra and Laugh Note, as well as temporarilly giving in to his ego and becoming villainous in the original comics, such as in The Five Magic Hair Strands and The Stairway of Heaven, hammering down the point that as good as he may try to be, Jimmy isn't impossible to be corrupted.
- As if to drive this point home, he more than once fought versions of himself that became evil due to their corrupting factors, and while this doesn't necessarily means he will become like them, it is frequently mentioned how his personality does match that of those villainous Jimmies.
- On top of it all, he is too arrogant to qualify as NPG, and this even causes problems sometimes, such as accidentally envoking the Lake Girl in Umbra due to his arrogance.
- He is also extremly mischievous, acting as an outright bully as a kid, and despite growing out of this once as a teen, the mischievous antics are still there, such as when he scared Monica in Halloween for fun.
