- Defends Clementine as Eli tried to knife her. He receives a cut at the corner of his eye before disarming the man.
- After Clementine inadvertently shoots Eli through the forehead, she begs Javi to cover for her. He can lie Tripp to protect Clementine, resulting being lock-up until Tripp figures out what to do with them; or he can tell the truth, resulting with Tripp accepts the truth and thanks Javi for being honest.
- After Badger and his bandits kill Mariana and wound Kate, Javier either chooses to protect his family and head back to Prescott or stay in the junkyard and fight the New Frontier bandits.
- (If Javi stayed to fight) After one of the bandits throws a grenade at them, Javi can tackle Clementine to protect her from the blast.
"Ties That Bind - Part 2"[]
- (If Javi stayed to fight) Carries his niece's corpse as Clementine leads him to the grave. He lays her corpse in the grave and, after some last words, begins filling her grave. He can either keep her tape player or leave it with Mariana. If he keeps it, later he can either keep it for himself or give it to Gabe.
- (If Javi went back to Prescott) Helps Eleanor as she does surgery on Kate's wound. He can also encourage Gabe to help her.
- He can choose to surrender to the New Frontier or open fire to them to save Francine,

- After Clementine reveals that she was a member of the New Frontier and Conrad suggested that they should hold Clementine as captive and bring her to Richmond to negotiate with the New Frontiers, Javi either agrees Conrad's plan to protect his family or shoot Conrad to protect Clementine.

- Overall, he has a big role for saving the Richmond from walkers and Joan's tyranny.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- In the past, he was expelled from the league after he was caught betting on his own games, a scandal that went into the news and was still remembered by some survivors even for four years after the apocalypse.
- If he is in a relationship with Kate, he has a choice to accept having kids with her a few days after his brother and determinately nephew died, acting a bit selfish.
- While he is a heavily righteous killer, he still has a violent and lethal side as determinately shown three times:
- Shooting Rufus. Even if he deserved it in some way, he was surrendering and defenseless when Javier shot him.
- Killing Badger in an extremely violent way by destroying his skull with his baseball bat, which is heavily criticized by Jesus for acting violent. Even though he deserved everything as he was nothing but a vile and ruthless bandit, he was already dying as he was shot by Javier before.
- Executing Max instead of sparing him and giving him a chance to expose Joan's deeds. Even if he deserved it, Max was remorseful for his crimes and defenseless at that time.
