His Good Ranking[]
What Makes him Admirable?[]
- For starters while he is killing people along the way, those people are criminals themselves (who are actually even worse than James) so in a way he is ridding the world of these sick and twisted individuals, making him an Anti-Hero of sorts.
- He kills off a gang known as the war dogs, who have his kidnapped family hostage and ends saving them in the process, unfortunately later on Starkweather films a tape to show to James of gang members killing his family members, causing him to throw the tv in anger, showing that while he didn’t have a close relationship with them, he still cared about his family deep down.
- Later on, he is tasked by Starweather to escort a tramp through the Innocentz gang turf, and while he reluctantly accepted, he still protected him from being killed by the gang members and eventually dropped him off at the end of the mission.
- Eventually he runs into Starkweather’s right-hand man Ramirez who has tormented and abused James throughout the entire game, until James finally puts an end to him once and for all for his crimes.
- Afterwards he is picked up by a female journalist who appeared at the very beginning of the game in the hopes of exposing Starkweather’s crimes, he escorts her to her apartment to gather her evidence, all the while the cops who were bribed by Starkweather try to kill them, only to all be killed off by James saving the Journalist in the process and indirectly leading to Starkweather’s crimes being exposed albeit posthumously.
- After killing Pigsy who previously ambushed him and killing off Cerberus guards, he finally reaches Starkweather’s hideout where he then mutilates him as revenge for his crimes, finishing him off for good.
What Makes him Inconsistent?[]
- He is extremely lethal as he kills off his enemies in gruesome ways either by stabbing, choking, beating, cutting, or shooting them, and while they do deserve it for being psychotic criminals while being a dangerous remorseless criminal himself, it is obviously too corrupting for him to be NPG let alone PG.
- Even before the events of the game, he was still a criminal, implied to be an enforcer for organized crime, which probably meant that he had to kill other rival criminals in the process, which was most likely the reason for him to be sentenced the death penalty.
- He can also be quite jerkish at times, such as with the tramp who he angrily tells to wait or follow him, even threatening to kill him himself if he makes a sound, and with the journalist after he escorts her to her apartment he refuses to go with her due to wanting to deal with Starkweather himself, he sarcastically tells her to, “have a good life” which was rather cold even after she saved him, however since it was his way of telling her to essentially save herself (same goes for the tramp) it’s a relatively minor prevention.
