The name's Bond... James Bond.
~ Bond's most famous quote.
noicon
Some men are coming to kill us. We're going to kill them first.
~ James Bond to Kincade.

Lyutsifer Safin: I want the world to evolve, yet you want it to stay the same. Let's face it - I've made you redundant.
James Bond: No. Not as long as there are people like you in the world.

~ Bond to Safin.

Commander James Bond CMG RN, also known as his codename 007, is the titular main protagonist of Eon Productions' rebooted film series of the same name.

He was a British Senior Operational Officer of the Double O (00) program, a black operations team under Britain's Secret Intelligence Service (MI6). He was the first person to hold the cryptonym "007", indicating he was the 7th agent with license to kill. Just like the original incarnation, he was a determined spy who tried his best to prevent possible threats and to complete his missions no matter what.

He was portrayed by Daniel Craig.

His Good Ranking[]

What Makes Him Admirable?[]

In General[]

  • Just like the novel and original movie incarnations, he was a determined special agent who always did his best to finish his missions, as well as to foil the notorious plans' from harming innocents, even if he had to try again and again.
  • He ultimately proved himself to be the man who made everything impossible possible, as he had saved the world from serious threats countless times, all by himself, also with sidekicks in some occasions.
  • Even many times he had considered to retire or to quit his job, he still decided to do the right thing and to take his job seriously, as long as the major threats were defeated and innocent people could ensure their safety.

Casino Royale[]

  • He stopped the terrorists from killing a man named Carlos Nikolic.
  • After getting informed by MI6, he then started to pursue a mastermind called Le Chiffre.
  • He foiled Le Chiffre's plan to destroy the Skyfleet, shortening his banker's company shares.
  • He met and cooperated with his partnered CIA agent Felix Leiter. He then saved and agreed to help a woman named Vesper Lynd.
  • He kept playing poker many times, even after losses, and finally managed to ultimately win the tournament, causing a great loss to Le Chiffre.
  • After Vesper got kidnapped, he quickly rushed and chased the car to get her.
  • After getting kidnapped and had a painful torture by Le Chiffre, he determined not to reveal his bank account's password to him. He waited long enough to get the latter successfully killed.
  • He killed many men and tried to save Vesper from her death, but unfortunately failed.

Quantum of Solace[]

  • After successfully defeating Le Chiffre, he then tried to defeat Quantum, another terrorist group, once and for all.
  • After knowing about Dominic Greene, who was known as one of the leaders of Quantum, as well as the person behind Vesper's death, he tried his best to chase and pursue him.
  • Although he brutally killed Greene, he deserved it for the harms he had caused, as well as Vesper's desperate suicide.

Skyfall[]

  • He fought Patrice aboard a train trying to stop him from escaping.
  • He wasn’t mad at Eve Moneyponey for accidentally shooting him off the train while shooting at Patrice, instead blaming M for ordering Eve to “take the bloody shot”.
  • He went to Severine at a casino in Shanghai to ask about her boss, Raoul Silva.
  • When Silva forced him to play a twisted version of “William Tell” by tying up Severine and putting a glass of wine on her head to shoot off, Bond deliberately missed in an attempt to save her life.
  • He was saddened when Silva killed Severine himself, mourning her death despite her affiliation to Silva and crimes she committed under his orders.
  • He tried to stop Silva from escaping MI6 custody, but failed.
  • He took M and Gregor Mallory to hide in his childhood home, Skyfall.
  • When Silva attacked Skyfall with his men, Bond led M and Mallory to safety and blew up his childhood home so they can escape.
  • He finally killed Silva by throwing an axe at his back, but sadly couldn’t save M who was mortally wounded during the fight.

Spectre[]

  • He honored M’s legacy will by hunting down the notorious organization SPECTRE led by his foster brother, Franz Obenhauser (now renamed Ernst Stavro Blofeld).
  • He tried to question SPECTRE assassin Marco Sciarra during a masquerade party in Mexico, but Sciara chose to jump off the helicopter to his death instead.
  • He seduced Sciarra’s widow Lucia into telling him about SPECTRE after saving her from two hitmen who tried to kill her.
  • He shows concern for Mr. White after finding him posioned and dying in his basement.
  • He promised Mr. White that he’ll protect his daughter Madeleine and gave him a gun so he can shoot himself and end his suffering.
  • He rescued Madeleine from assassins aboard a train and sympathized with her over her father’s death.
  • When given the choice by Blofeld to either let Madeleine die in the exploding building or risk his life trying to save her and possibly die in the explosion too, he chose to save Madeleine and managed to get both of them out of the building in time, atoning for not having been able to save Vesper.
  • He refused to kill Blofeld despite all the pain he caused him (including indirectly causing Vesper and M’s deaths), instead letting him be arrested by MI6 for his crimes.

No Time To Die[]

  • He paid his respects to Vesper’s grave before it was destroyed during an attack by SPECTRE.
  • Despite blaming Madeleine for supposedly betraying him, he still saved her from the attack by SPECTRE and sent her away on a train for her own safety.
  • Five years later, he called out Mallory for creating the Heracles bioweapon knowing how dangerous it is. His concerns would be proven correct when it was later stolen by Lyutsifer Safin to terrorize the world.
  • He tried to rescue Valdo Obruchev after he was “kidnapped” during a party held by SPECTRE, unaware that it was trap to kill him.
  • He was willing to work with Madeleine to question Blofeld despite their fallout.
  • He was horrified when he accidentally killed Blofeld after being accidentally infected with nanobots coded to Blofeld’s DNA by Madeleine. Although this happened because he nearly choked Blofeld in a vengeful rage after finding out he organized the attack by SPECTRE five years ago and framed Madeleine, this was understandable and he managed to calm himself with MI6’s help, making it a heating-up moment.
  • He tried to save Madeleine and their daughter Mathilde from Safin’s men, but sadly failed.
  • He killed one of Safin’s men to avenge his best friend Felix Leiter.
  • He rightfully called out Safin for playing God and his genocidal plans with Heracles, pointing out that his tragic backstory (losing his entire family in a banquet held by SPECTRE in his parents’ “honor”) may justify killing SPECTRE and Blofeld, but not committing mass genocide.
  • He helped Madeleine and Mathilde escape Safin’s island base and stayed behind to open the silos to allow missiles by MI6 to bomb the island, foiling Safin’s plan.
  • After being shot repeatedly by Safin and then injected with nanobots coded to Madeleine and Mathlide’s DNA, he killed Safin and then sacrificed himself by letting himself die in the bombing to save his love and child.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

  • Just like the original incarnation, he was very lethal and brutal when it comes to pursuing and defeating enemies, as he had done a lot of questionable actions to get information and neutralize the enemies while he could just easily capture or non-lethally neutralize them. Although some enemies deserved this, it was still very brutal from Bond
    • He captured Dominic Greene and stranded him in a dry desert with a can of energy oil, leading him to die slowly and painfully. This is considered one of the most brutal fates happened to any James Bond villains.
  • Although him and René Mathis were conflicted in the first movie, Mathis was ready to help him after that. However, after Mathis' death, Bond gave him a less than honorable farewell, by dumping his corpse into a dumpster.
  • He was a womanizer who frequently used women and sleep with them mostly to advance in his missions, seeing them as "disposable pleasures". Aside from Vesper Lynd and Madeleine Swann, whom he truly loved, he immediately abandoned other women after finishing his missions.
    • For instance, he once seduced a married woman just to antagonize her husband Alex Dimitrios, who was his prime target.
    • When he knew Sévérine was unwillingly working for Raoul Silva, he rather used her for his missions than primarily saving her.
    • As much as he loved Madeleine, he still ditched her in No Time To Die because he thought she betrayed him.
  • He was pretty reckless and destructive, which could have done some harm to his allies. For example, in Spectre, he once blew up a building, which could have harmed a lot of civilians.
  • Although he had a lot of loyal friends, he was still somewhat of a jerk to others, such as when he belittled and disrespected the new 007 Nomi's skills.

Trivia[]

  • Both original and reboot movie incarnations of James Bond were qualified as Inconsistently Admirable.
