NOTE: This article is about the Jake Lockley personality as the Marc Spector and Steven Grant personalities were voted as Near Pure Good and Pure Good respectively. Thus, only Jake Lockley's information should be added here.

Marc Spector truly believed that after he and I parted ways, I wanted his wife to be my Avatar. Why would I ever need anybody else when he has no idea how troubled he truly is? Meet my friend, Jake Lockley.

Jake Lockley is a major antagonist in the 2022 Disney+ Marvel Cinematic Universe series Moon Knight. He is the third and most ruthless persona of mercenary Marc Spector.

He is portrayed by Oscar Isaac.

His Good Ranking[]

What Makes Him Admirable?[]

  • He wants to rid the world of crime by any means possible.
  • Although he killed many people in the process, he saved Marc and Steven's lives on at least two separate occasions.
  • He defeated Arthur Harrow when Marc Spector and Steven were losing to him. This allowed Marc, Steven and Layla to imprison Ammit within Harrow, thus saving the world.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

  • He is an extremist who's willing to kill anyone who gets in his way—even innocent bystanders—as demonstrated when he murdered two hospital workers to abduct Arthur Harrow.
  • It's heavily implied that he is sadistic and enjoys killing his enemies, specifically when he shows pride in killing a defenseless Harrow.
  • He keeps his existence hidden from Marc and Steven, and forcibly takes over their body whenever he wants. He also works with Khonshu behind their backs, helping him manipulate Marc and Steven into doing his dirty work.
  • After Marc and Steven denounce Khonshu and seemingly give up their godlike powers, he keeps them enslaved to Khonshu and continues carrying out assassinations on Khonshu's behalf.
  • He is ultimately a hero-by-proxy, as his only heroic acts were done entirely for pragmatic reasons or were incidental:
    • While he saved Marc and Steven's lives, it's possible he only did so because he shared the same body as them.
    • Although he helped his other personas defeat Harrow, he was about to kill him when Marc took back control, which would have made it impossible to seal Ammit away.

Trivia[]

  • Jake Lockley may have been based on Travis Bickle from Taxi Driver, as they are both taxi drivers who have anti-heroic traits.
