You win this time, Lord Fujimaru! I accept your proposal!
~ Ishtar
Don't stop. Tell me more, guys! Flattery will get you nowhere but don't let that stop now!
~ Ishtar flirting with the others.

Ishtar (イシュタル, Ishutaru) is a major character in Fate/Grand Order, playing a pivotal role in Seventh Singularity: Babylonia chapter and a minor role in Final Singularity: Solomon chapter. She is a Archer-Class Psuedo Servant who made a temporary contract with Ritsuka Fujimaru, as well as Rider-Class Servant with her summer outfit. She is a Mesopotamian goddess of beauty, fertility, and war. She was said to be the most loved, yet most spoiled by the gods. In this form she has not manifested as the goddess Ishtar, but as a pseudo-Servant with the body of Rin Tohsaka with a similar wavelength to her own as a vessel.

She is voiced by Kana Ueda in Japanese and Mela Lee in English anime adaptation.

Her Good Ranking[]

What Makes Her Admirable?[]

  • When she possessed Rin's physical body, she took good care of her body.
  • Before the events of Babylonia chapter, she came to visit Kur and tell Ereshkigal to go have some fun for once and ignore her responsibility as a goddess for once.
  • When Ritsuka and Mash rayshifted into Babylonia singularity and were attacked by Demonic Beasts, she saved them by killing these beasts.
  • She saved several ranchers from Demonic Beasts just outside of Uruk.
  • After she was offered a large portion of Gilgamesh’s gems, she accepted Ritsuka’s proposal and joined him in saving the Babylonia singularity and human history from Tiamat, one of the Beast servants from the Evils of Humanity.
  • When the group were ambushed by Jaguar Man, Ishtar easily defeated her and caused her into joining them.
  • She helps Ritsuka’s group into getting Quetzalcoatl, the other goddess, to join their side.
  • Taking Jaguar Man’s advice, Ishtar took Ritsuka high into the air so they could body slam Quetzalcoatl. Quetzalcoatl catches them at the last moment and joins the group.
  • After Gilgamesh died from overexertion and was sent to the underworld by her sister Ereshkigal, Ishtar helps Ritsuka and Mash in defeating her sister.
  • She tells Quetzalcoatl and Merlin to stay behind while she goes with Ritsuka and Mash into Kur which leads into the underworld. The first reason is that a god's powers are nullified in Kur, and the second reason is so Merlin and Quetzalcoatl can serve as backup in case they fail. If that happens, they can convince Ereshkigal to return Ritsuka and Mash.
  • After Ereshkigal is defeated and Gilgamesh is freed from the underworld. She joins their side, although she cannot physically leave the underworld.
  • She helps the group in defeating Gorgon, the last of the Three Goddesses Alliance.
  • After Tiamat was awakened and she summoned the hordes of Lahmu to eradicate the entire population of Uruk, Ishtar flew there in lightning speed to defend the city from the sky.
  • With Ritsuka’s commend seal, she used her Noble Phantasm in an attempt to destroy Tiamat.
  • After they found a solution in defeating Tiamat (by dragging her into the underworld), Ishtar used her Noble Phantasm to punch a hole into Kur, leading Tiamat into the underworld as well as her eventual demise.
  • Ishtar came and mourned her sister Ereshkigal as she disappeared after she used too much of her magic to keep Tiamat in the underworld, showing that Ishtar does care about her sister deep down.
  • She tells Ritsuka and Mash about her last conversation with Ereshkigal, who is now resting in Kur, and thanks the pair on her behalf.
  • In the Final Singularity: Solomon, she showed up to fight the Demon God Pillars, along with many other servants.

What Makes Her Inconsistent?[]

  • While she did mellow down a bit, she still has a massive ego. Bragging about her beautiful looks and thinking everyone else looked inferior in comparison.
  • Despite Rin's personality toned down her impulsive and jerkish behavior, she is still shown to be a bit jerkish towards some of her allies, especially Gilgamesh after he rejected her confession.
  • She is prone to be wrathful whenever someone touches her body without permission, even if it is only an accident.
  • She often does not take her role as a goddess seriously and she would sometimes abuse her powers to get what she wants (mainly gems).
  • She can be very reckless at times, like when she destroyed the rancher’s farm and resources while protecting them from the Demonic Beasts.
  • She is also not willing to commit heroic deeds for free as she would take people's gems as payment.
  • While she was more than willing to help, she helped Ritsuka in saving the Babylonia singularity and human history partially because of Gilgamesh’s gems. At the end of the Babylonia chapter, she stated that she wanted to stay and enjoy those gems until the first Uruk dynasty ends.
  • She is also a bit dimwitted, like when she lost her Gugalanna, which would be very useful in holding off Tiamat while Ereshkigal makes preparations to open the gate to the underworld under Uruk, though to be fair, it was likely that Ishtar from strange Fake universe stole the Gugalanna from her, so it was not entirely her fault here.
