His Good Ranking[]
What Makes Him Admirable?[]
In General[]
- Even though MCU's Admirable Standards are astronomically high, Hulk stands out for assisting in the evacuation of Asgard before its destruction by Ragnarok, saving a massive amount of Asgardian lives even if half of them were killed by Thanos later. He also helped the Avengers defeat Ultron and Loki.
- Although he was initially created as a being of mass destruction, he became more sympathetic as he grew to care for the Avengers and willingly helped them.
The Incredible Hulk[]
- When Bruce was being attacked by goons, he quickly subdued them and then managed to flee the SOCC soldiers that had tracked him down.
- He defeated Thaddeus Ross' soldiers when they attacked him and Betty in Culver University, allowing Banner to succesfully escape and avoid being captured and weaponized.
- When Blonsky provoked him, he incapacitated him by kicking him into a tree.
- When a helicopter started raining fire on him, he protected Betty from the attack and used a metal shard to bring down the helicopter.
- He carried Betty to safety and shielded her from thunder.
- He fought and defeated Abomination when he had started to destroy Harlem, knocking him unconsicous and leaving him to be captured by Ross.
- In order to avoid capture and further damage, he chose to flee the battle scene.
The Avengers[]
- Despite being initially antagonistic to the Avengers, he chose to work with them in the Battle of New York, and saved them by punching a Leviathan down.
- He took out hundreds of Chitauri during the fight and took down several Leviathans with Thor, giving the Avengers a major advantage.
- After Loki was knocked out of his glider, he confronted him in Stark tower and beat him into submission by smashing him against the ground several times.
- He saved Tony from falling to his death after he flew the missile into the Chitauri Ship.
Avengers: Age of Ultron[]
- He went with the Avengers on a mission to retrieve Loki's scepter.
- Even though he caused the Duel of Johannesburg and injured and even killed several innocents as well as causing severe destruction, this was not his fault as he was under Scarlet Witch's control and both him and Banner are shown to be horrified by what they have done.
- After freeing Natasha, he carried her in his back into Novi Grand to help fight the Ultron Sentries.
- He worked with the Avengers to take out Ultron's forces and protect the key.
- When Ultron tried to flee in the Quinjet, he managed to get on board and throw him out.
- Understanding how dangerous he was, he chose to leave Earth on the quinjet and travel through space.
Thor: Ragnarok[]
- Despite his adversity with Thor, he chose to reveal the quinjet's location to him.
- Even though he and Thor had a small fight, they ultimately made up and became real friends, with Hulk agreeing to help Thor by getting him in contact with Valkyrie.
- Despite trying to stop Thor from leaving Saakar, it was only because he didn't want to lose his friend.
- He prevented Fenris Wolf from attacking the Asgardians and then fought him off the Rainow Bridge, eventually defeating him by causing him to fall of the edge of Asgard.
- Upon noticing Surtur destroying Asgard, he tried to fight him before Thor convinced him to stand down.
- He carried Thor, Loki, and Valkyrie to safety in the Statesman.
Avengers: Infinity War[]
- He remained behind in the ship to fight off the invaders and took on Thanos by himself, giving Loki enough time to get Thor out of the Titan's reach.
What Makes Him Inconsistent[]
- He is well known for his destructive tendencies and the amount of damage he can cause, which has also created complications for the heroes and has caused Banner to view the Hulk as a last resort and a curse for most of his life, and for good reason considering the rampages Hulk is known for causing, making him too wrathful for Near Pure Good. Even after becoming a hero and becoming more passive in a way with Thor and Nat, he is still incredibly violent and lethal as well as he killed multiple chitauri during the Battle of New York and spent two whole years as the Grandmaster's champion where he brutally murdered every contestant, evidenced by Korg saying "another week, another Doug" (who Hulk had killed before), and he also nearly killed Thor and attacked him regardless of their past, even after Thor tried to talk things out and refused to fight back.
- His rampages cause severe damage and injure several individuals, examples include:
- In his first moments after emerging, he destroyed Banner's lab and attacked all those around, injuring Betty Ross and several others, crushing Thaddeuss Ross' arm and even killing two innocent scientists as well as an army officer who tried to neutralize him. His actions also caused Banner to be deemed a threat and had him be on the run from the army for several years since he refused to be a weapon for Ross.
- He murdered the Tough Guy Leader and his goons when they caused him to come out by attacking Banner and then furiously attacked the SOCC Soldiers that tried to apprehend him, later trying to kill Blonsky by tossing a forklift truck at him.
- After transforming in the Helicarrier, he furiously chased Black Widow down and tried to kill her, later getting in a violent fight with Thor and damaging most of the Helicarrier and threatening the lives of many, with his rampage ending when he tried to attack a jet by tearing it apart and fell down into the city.
- He is the very embodiment of constant wrath and anger and constantly acts out of rashness and for his own self-benefit which makes him an anti-hero to an extent
- He has several jerkish moments such as laughing at Thor's attempts to escape, punching him in the Battle of New York and refusing to help Banner fight the Black Order.
- He has moral agency issues.
- He is responsible for most of Bruce's self-loathing and guilt as he feels responsible for all the things Hulk does even though it's not his fault.
Trivia[]
- Only the Hulk qualifies as IA as Bruce is approved as Pure Good.
