HULK SMASH!
~ Hulk’s catchphrase.

The Hulk is a major protagonist in Lego Marvel Superheroes 1 and 2. He is the split personality of Bruce Banner and one of the strongest members of the Avengers.

He was voice by Fred Tatasciore.

His Good Rankings[]

What Makes Him Admirable?[]

In General[]

  • The only characters he has to compete with are Captain America, Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Thor. Despite this, he still stands out as he played a major role in defeating both main villains (Loki, Galactus, and Kang) in addition to defeating several other villains. While there’s also Black Widow, Hawkeye, Doctor Strange, She Hulk, Captain Marvel, the Fantastic Four, the X-Men, the Inhumans, Guardians of the Galaxy, Black Panther, etc. Their most admirable acts are really limited to one game. The Fantastic Four and the X-Men aren’t in the second game so they didn’t contribute to stopping Kang; She Hulk, Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange, Ant Man, Wasp, Black Panther, and the Guardians of the Galaxy were mainly cameos in the first game so they too didn’t contribute at all in stopping Galactus and Loki from destroying Earth and Asgard; Black Widow and Hawkeye don’t really contribute in the final battle in the first game and don’t appear in any of the story missions in the second game. Because of this, him, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Cap, and Thor are the only five heroes to play major roles consistently in both games.

Background[]

  • At some point prior to the first game, he defeated The Leader and got him locked up at the raft.
  • It’s implied that he had defeated the Abomination like his MCU counterpart.
  • Additionally, given how Loki is seen locked up at the raft in the beginning of the game and how Iron Man remarks “didn’t we already clean up this city” on the first level, it’s likely he also helped the other avengers defeat Loki and prevent him from taking over the world.

Lego Marvel Superheroes[]

  • In “Sand Central Station”, he defeated Abomination and later helped Iron Man and Spider-Man defeat Sandman.
  • In “Rock up at the Lock up”, he helped Iron Man and Wolverine defeat The leader, Whiplash, Sabertooth, and Abomination (a second time).
  • In “Taking Liberties”, he helped Mr. Fantastic and Wolverine defeat Mastermind.
  • In “The Good, the Bad, and the Hungry”, he helped Thor defeat Galactus by using him as a bat in which Thor would use his hammer  to send Galactus into a portal, thus foiling Loki’s plan to destroy Earth and Asgard as well as saving billions of lives in the process.

Lego Marvel Superheroes 2[]

  • In “Red King Revelation”, he helped Captain America, Captain Marvel, Thor, and Doctor Strange defeat Red King.
  • In “Torg-Nado”, he helped Captain America, Captain Marvel, Thor, Doctor Strange, and Stingray defeat Attuma and get a nexus fragment
  • In “I Sphinx We Have A Problem”, he helped Captain America, Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange, and Horus escape from a tomb Loki trapped them in and later defeat him and retrieve the nexus fragment he had.
    • Because of this, Dr strange was later able to unify them with the book of vishanti and allow Knowere to enter and disable Kang’s citadel forcefield with an emp so that they could finally fight him and stop his multiversal conquest.
  • Helped the Guardians of the Galaxy, Inhumans, and other Avengers face off against Kang’s army while Captain America, Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, and Star Lord went into Kang’s citadel to confront him, leading to his defeat.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

  • Like a lot of incarnations, he is a violent berserker and can will often destroy or attack things for petty reasons whenever he gets annoyed such as destroying a few of Tony Stark’s computer when he couldn’t properly use them, punching green goblin when he accidentally knocked a burger he was eating out of his hands, and attacking Wolverine upon meeting him. This ultimately makes him too wrathful to be considered PG or NPG.
  • He can be reckless and impulsive at times such as him blindly jumping on a car in the first level of the first game, him going in to charge at Sandman’s goons and abomination when Iron man was discussing a plan, him accidentally destroying Doctor Strange's portal to the Pharoh’s tomb (forcing him, Thor, and Captain Marvel to take a longer way in order to meet up with Captain America and Doctor strange), him breaking the floors of the Pharoh’s tomb in order to get the other Avengers to lower levels (while it did help a bit, it was still reckless as it got them hurt), and him slamming the lid for N'Kantu’s sarcophagus when he was put inside it again (causing another cave-in which could have gotten the other avengers hurt and forced them to get into Strange’s portal quickly).
  • He has several jerkish moments such as him briefly pushing Wolverine away when he was running inside the raft, him pretending to shake Thor’s hands before later aggressively shaking him around, and him knocking off Thor’s helmet.
