Anyway, when I found her, she'd been hurt in a fight with a Typhoomerang. Windshear held her own, didn't you, girl? But she needed to be nursed back to health. And when she was better, I used the training you guys taught me back on Berk. We've become the perfect team. We're unstoppable!
~ Heather to Hiccup regarding how she's grown in the last years
I was protecting you, brother. From what you told me about him, I doubt Viggo takes kindly to losing valuable property. If anything happens to the Riders, let Ryker be on the hook for it. Not you.
~ Heather watching over Dagur

Heather is a major protagonist in the DreamWorks Dragons TV Series, showing up as a minor character in Riders of Berk and becoming a major protagonist in Race to the Edge.

She was voiced by Mae Whitman.

Her Good Ranking[]

What Maker Her Admirable?[]

Riders/Defenders of Berk[]

  • While she did try to steal information from the riders to give to Alvin, it was only because he had kidnapped her adoptive parents and forced her into it.
  • She suggests to Hiccup that he should use a shorter connecting rod, which would push the rider back in the saddle more, making his flights with Toothless more streamlined.
  • She escapes from the Berkian prison and sneaks off with Stormfly with the intention to help the riders against Alvin.
  • She later thanks Astrid and the riders for saving her parents and parts with them on good terms.
  • After her village was decimated by Dagur and her adoptive parents were killed, she found a Razorwhip after surviving, bonding with the dragon and training it, naming it Windshear.
  • She began to hunt down Dagur with the intent of avenging her village and bringing him to justice.

Race to the Edge[]

  • She began to raid several bandit ships and redistribute the stolen goods back to their rightful owners.
  • Though she incapacitated the Dragon Riders when they found her hideout, she did it in ways that would not harm them at all or just slightly, and only did it because she didn't want to draw them into her plans. After being cornered by Hiccup, she reveals herself and apologizes to them.
  • She met up with Trader Johann to get information on where Dagur could be headed. Afterwards, she attacks him but gets subdued and captured before Hiccup frees her and convinces her to leave instead of staying to fight a losing battle.
  • She convinces the riders (except Hiccup) to help her capture Dagur as Johann would no longer be able to find him afterwards, and agrees to capture the Berserker instead of killing him.
  • After Dagur is revealed as her brother and offers her to join him, he refuses and instead leaves with the riders.
  • She made a scheme to infiltrate Viggo Grimborn's ranks by pretending to have joined Dagur under Ryker's lead against the Riders. This way she could gather information which she gave to Astrid and allowed the Riders a major advantage against the hunters. She also revealed to them that Viggo was the true leader instead of Ryker.
  • She keeps Dagur from killing the riders by convincing him they use them for work instead.
  • She tells Astrid of a cave where the Snow Wraith is hibernating and plans to keep Ryker away from it as the Hunters were tyring to get the dragon's tooth to unlock the Snow Eye. Though Astrid is uncomfortable about keeping their plan a secret from Hiccup since she has never lied to him before. Heather still insists they keep the other riders in the dark, knowing Hiccup would want to pull her out and she didn't want him to risk himself nor her cover.
  • When Ryker has the hunters search the cave, she intentionally revealed their locations so the Riders wouldn't be caught off-guard.
  • During the siege of the Edge, she helps Ruffnut escape and helps mantain Astrid and Tuffnut's charade as all the other riders were away on a mission.
  • She informs the Riders of Viggo's plan to capture the Flightmare. However after it's revealed to be a trap she manages to fight off Viggo and rejoin the Riders, later trying to rescue the Flightmare only to be captured herself.
  • She tries to reach out to Dagur to leave the hunters, and eventually succeds as Dagur frees her and later leaves on a journey of self-reflection.
  • She kept in touch with Fishlegs by using Hiccup's idea for Terror Mail.
  • After being invited back to the Edge, she reveals that she was filled with guilt ober having dissapared without a word but states that she needed some time to find herself.
  • She tries to help the Riders help with redirecting a Nadder flock during their migration but fails due to Windshear's sudden agression, taking her back to the Edge to try and figure out what was wrong.
  • She accepts Hiccup's offer to try to train Windshear to cooperate with other dragons but chooses to leave for everyone's safety after it fails.
  • She and Fishlegs switch dragons in order to show that Windshear was only being protective and efectively help with the Nadder's relocation. Afterwards, she officially joins the Dragon Riders.
  • When the Riders took Garf in, Heather showed the most affection to the young dragon and was the most effective in caring for it and keeping him calm, insisting that they could not abandon him in the wild, having found common ground with him due to her past.
  • She and the Riders take Garf to the Death Song's island so he can be with his own kind and help it bond with the older dragon, with her encouraging him to go on.
  • She, Astrid and Snotlout manage to track Viggo's ships to discover he was using Catastrophic Quakens to build a marble fortress.
  • She leaves with Snotlout to scout out Viggo's fleets, unaware that Hiccup sent her out because he was teaching Dagur in the Edge.
  • When she thought Dagur was ratting them out to Viggo, she tried to knock him out of the sky. Later she comes to genuinely accept him and grieve him after his apparent demise, shedding tear after reading his letter.
  • She accompanied the Riders in keeping guard when Viggo invited Hiccup for a meeting.
  • She joined the others in investigating the island of the Defenders of the Wing and later stayed behind to help the village block out the overflowing lava from the Volcano since Viggo had stolen the island's Great Protector.
  • When Hiccup was captured due to a bounty, she helped locate and rescue him.
  • She and Hiccup infiltrate the Northern Markets to find a stranger who saved Mala and Throk's lives and after discovering it's Dagur she plans to confront him over his return.
  • After finding out Dagur was only helping the Hunters because they had kidnapped Shattermaster, he begrudingly joins her two "brothers" in a scheme to release all the Gronckles Viggo has captured.
  • She helped try to free and relocate the Submarriper that was drowning several Traders and Merchants and saved Fishlegs from being sucked down the Dragon's whirlpools.
  • Despite being initially reluctant, she comes to an understanding with Dagur and bids farewell to the Riders so she can leave with him to rebuild the Berserker Tribe and find their missing father.
  • She joins in on Hiccup's plan to take back the Dragon Eye from Viggo.
  • She helps defend Berserker Island from Ryker's Shellfire.
  • She and Dagur succesfully reestablished the Berserkers to their former glory and reformed the Tribe from bloodthisty warriors to more calm protectors.
  • When Savage turns on Dagur and captures him, she leads the Riders and Gustav to safety and gives them directions through the underground tunnels so that they could overthrow Savage, take back the island and free Dagur.
  • She was willing to take on Savage even without her dragon.
  • She joined the Riders on their adventures on Wingmaiden Island, helping to save Snotlout from nesting Razorwhip females.
  • She continued to search for Oswald at the expense of her own health and went with Johann to the northern markets to meet with a man who supposedly had info on him.
  • After realizing she's in a trap, she fights back and manages to escape with Snotlout's help, afterwards being convinced by Johann to go through with Krogan's trade as Windshear would be killed otherwise.
  • After Krogan dropped Windshear's cage to the ocean, she dived in after her and tried to free her before they were both saved by Dagur.
  • She leaves to visit Oswald's grave on Vanaheim and after being followed and ambushed by Hunters she makes it back to Berk to warn Hiccup.
  • She tries to go with the Riders to Vanaheim but is unable to due to her injuries.
  • After healing, she returns to Berserker Island and leads the defenses after Johann and Krogan launch their final attack to find the King of Dragons.
  • She joins in on the final battle to protect the Bewilderbeast and taking down all the hunters' ships.

What Makes Her Inconsistent?[]

  • She has a more lethal and unhinged side to her that begins to show more as the series progresses. While most of her more dark and shady moments are against Dagur, she barely shows any remorse for her actions against him even after he redeemed himself and changed for the better.
    • In the first season she tried to have Windshear kill Dagur without even the slightest remorse and while it may have been justified to an extent, she had previously promised to the Riders that she wouldn't kill him and even went out of her way to block out Astrid when she tried to stop her.
    • She sank several vikings and traders in the ocean by blasting through their ships and stealing their resources to help her search for vengeance on Dagur, which made Berk begin to focus on her and Hiccup classify her as a potential threat, even believing her to be Dagur.
    • When Hiccup began helping Dagur train a dragon and reform and tried to bring him up in conversation with the other riders, Heather firmly states she'll murder him in cold blood without thought and even slices a table in half to demonstrate, showing that in spite of knowing he's her brother and the fact that he freed her from the Hunters, she's still willing to kill him without thought or hearing him out.
    • When she finds out Hiccup was training Dagur, she instantly attacks her brother without provocation and nearly kills him if it weren't for Hiccup intervening, afterwards she then lashes out at Hiccup and didn't even allow him to explain himself.
  • Though it's understandable given that he makes her uncomfortable and she makes it clear she doesn't want a relationship, she can still go too needlsesly far in her punishments of Snotlout for flirting with her, such as breaking down the floor and nearly dropping him to the sea at a height that was life threathening.
  • She became quite reckless in her later search for Oswald, often leading herself and Dagur into dead ends or death traps and refusing to listen to him or take a break which led Dagur to reach out to Hiccup so he could convince her to calm down. Her carelessness even nearly got her killed as she blindly trusted a man that Johann led her to who claimed to have found Oswald and ended up losing one of the Dragon Eye's lenses to Krogan.

Trivia[]

  • She and Dagur are among the few pairs of siblings to be Inconsistently Admirable in this wiki, with at least one other example being Max and Phoebe Thunderman, with those two even being twins.
