Dr. Harleen Frances Quinzel, Ph.D (also better known as Harley Quinn) is a major character in the DC Extended Universe, serving as the deuteragonist of the 2016 film Suicide Squad, the titular main protagonist of the 2020 spin-off film Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), and the tritagonist of the 2021 standalone sequel The Suicide Squad.
She is portrayed by Margot Robbie.

What Makes Her Admirable?[]
In General[]
- Despite the DCEU's hefty admirable standard, Harley Quinn defeated Black Mask and saved the world twice, first from Incubus and the Enchantress and again from Starro the Conqueror, and she is nowhere close to having wealth comparable to Batman or physical attributes comparable to Wonder Woman or Superman, even if the three of them helped save 50,000 worlds from Steppenwolf.
- While one could argue her motivation to be heroic is self-serving, this is not even slightly true as she could have easily joined the Enchantress while Amanda Waller was down and stay out of Black Mask's way and leave Cassandra Cain to fend for herself, proving she really does have selfless reasons for saving the day.
Background[]
- She genuinely wanted to help the Joker as his counselor prior to him seducing her.
- Even though she kept messing with Black Mask by urinating in his drink and burning his property (hence his unrivaled sum of "grievances" with her), it was not like he did not deserve such treatment due to his awful actions as a crime boss.
Suicide Squad[]
- She takes out several Eyes of the Adversary.
- She rejoins the Squad after the Joker's "death" despite being freed from Waller's control and could have escaped instead, showing that she's actually willing to help.
- She helps El Diablo come to terms with his guilt of accidentally killing his family, which is how he eventually resists the Enchantress's illusion of his family being alive again.
- When the Enchantress tortures her with hallucinations, she sees herself and the Joker being cured of their sanity and being happily married with healthy, happy children, instead of glory or fame like the Joker would likely have seen.
- She tries to stop Incubus, courageously smiting him with her bat.
- She plays a crucial role in stopping the Enchantress, convincingly pretending to share in her cynicism and malice so she can take her heart, the source of the undead anomaly's mystical power, and toss it to Rick Flag so he can crush it, saving billions of people in the process.
Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)[]
- She does everything she can to help Cassandra Cain.
- She throws Black Mask into a vat of electricity, preventing him from continuing to cut off the faces of countless people.
The Suicide Squad[]
- She honors Javelin's dying request and keeps his javelin, despite not even knowing what to do with it.
- She shoots Silvio Luna after he says he's going to kill lots of children.
- She bands together with Task Force X to defeat Starro the Conqueror, saving Corto Maltese from being burned to the ground.
- She honors her late friend Rick Flag by proposing to his other friend Bloodsport to become friends with each other.
What Makes Her Inconsistent?[]
- She is way too sadistic and lethal, not really caring if she has to kill her enemies or not; this is best showcased during her escape from Silvio Luna's palace, where she sadistically guns down a whole legion of guards as they are trying to retreat as their blood manifests as flowers, indicating she sees this violence as natural and beautiful.
- She is also a huge jerk who is constantly disrespectful to other members of Task Force X as well as the Birds of Prey (although they were equally rude to her).
- She is very arrogant, especially concerning her impressive academic achievements and her lovely physical appearance.
- She used to be the Joker's girlfriend and helped him commit lots of crimes prior to their break-up, like stealing diamonds or trying to kill Batman for instance.

- Much like Captain Jack Sparrow, Mike Wheeler, Napoleon Dynamite, Peter Pan, Felonious Gru, Jack-Jack Parr, the Daughter, Scarlet Witch, Loki Laufeyson, Dodge, Wednesday Addams, and especially Din Grogu, Flintheart Glomgold, and Toph Beifong, Harley Quinn's status as Inconsistently Admirable is ironic, given that her corrupting factors are perceived as very enjoyable to watch towards the majority of her fanbase.
