NOTE: This is a composite profile of both mainstream versions of Han Solo being his Canon and Legends counterparts where both incarnations take different directions in their storylines with the Star Wars Hexalogy serving as the only exception. |

~ Han Solo. |
Han Solo is one of the main characters in the Star Wars franchise. He is an arrogant and self-centered smuggler who is hired by Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi when they need transport. Throughout the course of their adventure Luke's selflessness rubs off on Han and he becomes one of his most loyal friends.
In the original and classic trilogies, he is portrayed by Harrison Ford, who also played Indiana Jones in the eponymous film pentalogy. In Solo: A Star Wars Story, he is portrayed by Alden Ehrenreich.
His Good Ranking[]
What Makes Him Admirable?[]
Solo[]
- He cares deeply for his love interest Q'ira and sees the good in her even though she doesn't.
- He gives Chewbacca a spear to give him an advantage as he tries to save his people from the empire's captivity.
- He comforts Tobias Beckett in his dying moments and doesn't hate him for selling him out to Crimson Dawn.
- Gives up Coaxium to the Cloud Riders despite knowing it will make an enemy out of Dryden Vos.
A New Hope[]
- While he shoots Greedo, it's only in self-defense and Greedo's wording implies he personally wanted to kill Han for a long time.
- He helps to save Princess Leia from the Empire.
- He assures Chewbacca there's nothing to worry about when Luke comes up with a plan that involves them posing as Stormtroopers and pretending Chewie is their prisoner.
- He helps Luke when a dianoga starts pulling him under water when they are trapped in the garbage shute.
- He offers Luke a chance to join his crew and wishes him well on his attempt to destroy the Death Star when he declines.
- He comes back and saves Luke during the Battle of Yavin which allows him to destroy the Death Star and prevent the Empire from destroying potentially millions of planets.
- Despite still being a smuggler, he subverts his anti-heroic status and becomes a full on hero.

- Even after everything his son Ben Solo/Kylo Ren did, Han tries to offer him a shot at redemption which unfortunately costs him his life as Kylo ends up killing him. Despite this, he is later successful as Ben is consumed with remorse over killing Han and this is key to him eventually returning to the light side.
The Courtship of Princess Leia[]
- He kills Zsinj who was the legacy of the Empire.
- His marriage with Leia made him from Minister to Chief of State for the New Republic repairing from the damage from the Empire.
The Thrawn Trilogy[]
- He rescues Luke from his capture.
- He takes down some imperial boarders for the rebels to destroy the Judicator.
- He saves his newborn children from imperial attack.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- Despite subverting his anti-heroic status, he is still too jerkish for NPG. He frequently makes disparaging comments to and about others, which was partly the reason why Leia couldn't stand him at first.
- He is too arrogant for PG or NPG and often boasts about himself.
- He left Leia and returned to smuggling after his son Ben Solo turned to the dark side and became Kylo Ren.
- Additionally, he made quite an extensive habit of smuggling throughout his career in general, during which he ripped off numerous people he made deals with by never giving them the money or whatever else he promised them despite repeatedly making false promises to them that he would, to the extent he developed a noted reputation for it by the time of The Force Awakens. While most or all of these people were criminals and/or otherwise unsympathetic individuals, he still never showed any sort of regret or remorse for backstabbing and essentially using many of them for his own gain.
Trivia[]
- He is one of seven Star Wars characters to be Inconsistently Admirable, alongside Luke Skywalker, Anakin Skywalker, Mace Windu, The Mandalorian, Din Grogu, and Bo-Katan Kryze.
- Han Solo's departure prevention from Leia does not happen in the Legends continuity, and as a matter of fact more to the opposite with him and Leia striving to love each other in comfort from their sorrow over the loss of their sons (Anakin Solo and Jacen Solo/Darth Caedus).
