What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- The main reason why he cannot qualify as Near Pure Good is that he is extremely incompetent and he consistently causes unintentional and reckless damage across San Fransokyo across several episodes. Such moments include:
- As a little kid, he was responsible for making his mother's insecurities over Binky Mole worse since he kept ruining everything.
- Exposing Hiro's cover when he told them to hide and not reveal his presence to Professor Granville, putting his safety at risk.
- Causing a lot of property destruction across San Fransokyo until Mini-Max arrives.
- Bringing Mochi into the SFIT lab and causing lots of damage in it, showing no remorse for this.
- Tries testing Wasabi's phobia of bad luck which eventually resulted in Mini-Max inadvertantly turning evil for a little bit.
- Taking Hiro's backpack by accident and giving his present to Krei, who throws it into the trash. This causes Big Hero 6 to have to fight several villains to get it back since Noodle Burger Boy was also present in the garbage scene and ended up getting it.
- Going on night patrol despite being aware he's gonna get arrested and accidentally having his suit get damaged in the process, which caused his mother to worry about him and test him.
- Not reviewing emails by clicking on scams, which put the entire secret base in danger. And even though he seemed to have learned, he let another virus in the base after he gets one more scam email much to everybody else's dismay.
- He still does not learn his lesson and falls for Noodle Burger Boy's trap, which caused them to create a Fred duplicate to trick his friends.
- He is very mischievous, such as when he keeps narrating for absolutely no reason and continues this behavior even after his friends said that it was annoying, delights in spitting out fire or turning his head lights on in front of everybody, giving both enemies and friends alike silly nicknames, sometimes interfering with Wasabi's perfectionist nature, trying to wake up Honey Lemon or trying to woo Olivia Mole underneath a facade even though she turned out to like him regardless of what he is.
- He is very jealous of Richardson Mole's comic book collection and wants to be better than him by any means necessary. And although Mole is definitely spoiled, there was still absolutely no altruistic reason to compete against him, only continuing to get him because it's family tradition for the Fredericksons and Moles to be sworn enemies of each other. Even Hiro, Aunt Cass and Honey Lemon all tell him to not care about what Mole thinks, but he does this anyway.
- He is very arrogant too since he frequently brags about how much of a comic book enthusiast he is towards Mole and consistently underestimates his enemies, as well as having a song all about himself.
- To add onto his greed, he is also very gluttonous since he keeps overeating pizza, noodle burgers and tacos just to satisfy his own stomach and it's shown he also eats them right before bed. This makes him spoiled too since his parents and butler don’t discipline him enough over this behavior.
- He is a control freak since he insists that Honey Lemon makes him a dragon suit, insists Go Go, Wasabi and Honey keep fighting crime despite them no longer being interested in doing the job, wants his Bro-tillion to be 100% perfect and demands Go Go to make popcorn for a movie the way he wants it. He still retains his control freak behavior in Season 3 since he continues to get angry over those 3 leaving to pursue their own desires and urges them to stay until they comfort him and gets angry over Olivia Mole not accepting him at first and selfishly wanting to commit suicide due to this petty excuse.
Trivia[]
- Fred is the only Big Hero 6 character to be Inconsistently Admirable. He's also the only member of the Big Hero 6 team to not be Near Pure Good, unlike the others.
- It is possible that he would've been Pure Good or Near Pure Good had it not been for the TV series expanding on his character development and giving him several more corrupting factors.
- He suffers a similar case to Vanellope von Schweetz since both had much less corrupting factors in their debuts than in their follow-ups.
