Esdeath is a former antagonist that became a major character in the american Akame ga Kill!'s fanfic Killing Your Dark Future. She was a high-ranking general of the Empire, one of the most powerful Imperial Arm users in the world and the leader of the Jaegers. She also represented the biggest physical threat of the series before her redemption. She is an alternate version of her canon counterpart with the same name.

What Makes Her Admirable?[]

- Despite having buried over 400.000 people alive, having served as the Empire's main force for a long time, and being a natural sadist, she is not without affability. She holds care for her team members in the Jaegers:
- She unmasked Bols to give him more confidence and encouraged him to eat with the others from that one night.
- Comforted Seryu with genuine care when she was still mourning for Stylish.
- Despite having a perverted lust for him stealing a kiss from him and wanting something more, she still genuinely loves Tatsumi and wants his good.
Fanfic exclusive[]
- She didn't attack the Jaegers right away when she met them for her "test" (although it may have simply been due to lack of time, as she herself said).
- After Tatsumi points out that the Empire is not strong, she begins to doubt her actions and expresses disgust at Honest's machinations.
- After proposing a challenge to Tatsumi in which, if she won, he would return to the Empire with her and, if he won, she would join the Revolutionary Army, she loses and keeps her word, agreeing to work with the revolution.
- All the while she expresses a desire to keep Tatsumi safe.
- Although she expressed mild hostility towards the girls because she assumed they weren't strong enough, it was only because, as Lubbock said, she wanted Tatsumi to have girlfriends strong enough to protect him, and in any case, she subverts this by becoming much friendlier towards them.
- She expresses a desire to try to convince her men to join the revolution with her, although, according to her words, she has not been successful.
- She offers Bols a chance to leave the Empire with his family and convinces Najenda to abort her mission to kill him.
- She fakes her death so she can work with the Revolutionary Army, causing the Empire to lose its most powerful warrior.
- She arrives in disguise at the battle to kill Bolic to save Susanoo, stopping Budo from destroying its core, and rescuing the rest of Night Raid.
- She hands Najenda Susanoo's core so he can be cured.
- She arrives at the battle between Akame and Kurome to stop the sisters from killing each other.
- Although she temporarily froze Kurome, she only did so because Kurome intended to consume her drugs to kill her and Akame as she saw them as traitors to the Empire.
- She convinces Kurome not to kill her sister and destroys Yatsufusa so that she will no longer be influenced by the sword, also freeing her puppets in the process.
- She acts as a key player in the final battle, fighting the Empire's forces with her immense power.
- She saves a group of revolutionary soldiers from being killed by Shikoutazer and orders them to leave and move the injured, although she denied that she was a good person.
- She freezes Shikoutazer's legs so Tatsumi can attack him.
- Although upset about not being able to participate in the celebration of the revolution's victory, she honors her part of the contract to fulfill her exile from the Empire.
What Makes Her Inconsistent?[]
- While she did redeem herself, she still shares some of her canon self's crimes, and she didn't show remorse for all of them just some of them, and they're too severe to make her PG and NPG anyways even if she did. She the following:
- Worked with Honest knowing very well the Pure Evil he is and was his main accomplice for a long time.
- Tortured many innocent people in her torture chamber.
- Ordered her army to pillage, murder, beat and even rape everyone in the Ban Tribe's homeland as she forces the leaders of the tribe to watch in horror.
- Injured Najenda, ripping her right eye and arm.
- When Najenda herself points this out, she dismisses it as trivial, saying that at least now "she's got such a fancy mechanical arm now and a cool eyepatch".
- Even though she apologized for it, the narration describes that she did it with disdain and not genuine remorse.

- Massacred many of the Northern Tribes and tortured Prince Numa before killing him.
- She is still a very sadistic and lethal woman. She loves fighting and hunting, laughed maniacally while slaughtering the Imperial soldiers in the final battle (to the point of making her own allies afraid), and after Tatsumi escaped his execution, she tells him that she would be willing to destroy the entire city to save him. Although she said this to express how much she loves him, it is still too quite extreme.
Trivia[]
- Her canon version doesn't count as Inconsistently Admirable, because she is a genocidal social darwinist who have never changed for better and didn't do enough genuine good acts to pass the serie's admirable standards.
- She is so far the only Akame Ga Kill! IA to be from a fanon work.
