Dmitri Cimber is a major protagonist in The First Purge and the overarching protagonist for the rest of the series. He is an ex drug lord that was previously the most powerful one on Staten Island, but decides to change for the better when the NFFA start murdering everyone in his neighbourhood during the Purge, going as far as to kill several of their members to protect innocent people and founding the Anti-Purge Resistance to keep people safe as long as the Purge is continuing.
He was portrayed by Y'Ian Noel.

What Makes Him Admirable?[]
- He offers Nya and Isaiah sancutary during the Purge experiment, despite Nya being cold towards him due to his criminal background.
- He gives Isaiah a second chance for protection upon finding out he wants to purge by killing Skeletor, although Isaiah declines.
- He kills Capital A and his loyalists, preventing them from going on a killing spree during the Purge.
- He then spares the assassins that Capital A hired to kill him on the condition they know the island is his territory.
- After getting into a car accident with 7&7 and noticing a group of 4 terrorists kill people, Dmitri snaps one of their necks and then kills the remaining ones with an assault rifle.
- Upon correctly deducing that the NFFA had hired the terrorists and mercenaries to kill people in order to raise the death toll, he and his gang gear up to protect the innocent themselves, realizing that he and his gang are the only hope people have to survive the experiment.
- He saves a group of survivors from KKK members by murdering all of the Klansmen and then recruiting them into his gang to help with saving the neighbourhood.
- After drones kill everyone in his gang except for 7&7 and he gets a call from Nya that terrorists are storming her apartment block, he gears up, tells Nya to stay strong and gives 7&7 a fist bump before going to save as many people as he can.
- Saves Nya and Isaiah from a terrorist that was about to kill the two of them.
- Comes up with a plan to kill the remaining terrorists using a C4 brick, intending to burden it by himself and asking everyone else to hide in the closet until it's safe to come out, reluctantly deciding to let Nya help him after she insists.
- The plan ends up working and Dmitri ends up killing the last of the terrorists, subsequently using a mattress to shield himself and Nya from the incendiary emitted from the C4.
- Thanks to Dmitri, the entire neighborhood is saved by the end of the movie, shown by hundreds to thousands of people walking out of their apartments when the Purge finally ends.
- After believing that the innocent need to fight back, Dmitri decides to found the Anti-Purge Resistance to keep people safe from the Purge, making him responsible for millions of lives being saved as the series goes on and indirectly leading to the end of the purge through Dante and the rest of the Anti-Purge Resistance helping Charlie Roan survive the night.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He is an anti-hero that often employs brutal murder methods against his enemies such as slitting throats, strangling them to death and blowing them up in explosions.
