â | I can bring you in warm, or I can bring you in cold. | â |
~ Din Djarin's most famous quote, as well as the primary reason why he can never come close to being Pure Good. |
â | I'm a Mandalorian. Weapons are part of my religion. | â |
~ Djarin to Kuiil. |
Din Djarin, also known as the Mandalorian or Mando, is the titular main protagonist of the 2019 Star Wars Disney+ live-action streaming series The Mandalorian and the tritagonist of its 2021-2022 spin-off miniseries The Book of Boba Fett.
The Mandalorian is a reputed bounty hunter operating at the time of the New Republic some years after the fall of the Galactic Empire. He made a name for himself as a member of the Bounty Hunters' Guild, collecting bounties as he traveled across the galaxy's Outer Rim Territories, far from the authority of the New Republic, in his personal starship, the Razor Crest. During one of his missions on planet Arvala-7, he met a mysterious Force-sensitive infant of the same species as Yoda named Grogu who happened to be his target with whom he formed a close bond and sought to protect at all costs, putting him in conflict with other bounty hunters as well as with a former member of the empire who had originally hired him.
He is portrayed by Pedro Pascal, who also portrayed Joel Miller in The Last of Us TV series.
His Good Ranking[]
Debated Validations[]
- Although he gets offended when Bo-Katan and her allies take of their helmets and claims that they're not real Mandalorians, he then has no hesitation in doing that himself when parting with Grogu later on. Even the Armorer and Paz Vizsla rightfully call him out for breaking the Creed and kicks him out of the Tribe. However, the Children of the Watch taught him this way and before meeting them has never taken off his helmet in front of others himself. Also, as he spends more time with Bo-Katan, he realizes that there are multiple Mandalorian customs that are okay.

- Despite not having any force powers and little expertise on swordsmanship, he stands out for playing a huge role in reuniting the Mandalorian tribes and reclaiming Mandalore.
- While he did start off as a Death Watch member, he never did anything too remarkably heinous and even then, his current personality shows that heâs far past it.

- Allows Grogu to be his adopted son and later teaches him the ways of the Mandalore.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- Despite not being an anti-hero anymore and being more honorable than the other bounty hunters, he still frequently accepts jobs for bounties.
- While he mostly subverts his anti-heroic status, he is still too lethal towards his enemies, as he never stops giving them all horrible deaths even if some of them actually deserved it. Such moments include bisecting a Quarren, killing a few Jawas mercilessly, burning up a stormtrooper, leaving Gor Koresh to die after hanging him even after heâs helpless without his men, and decapitating and bisecting Kaba Baiz on a table with the Darksaber. His famous quote, âI can bring you in warm, or I can bring you in coldâ also shows that he is an assassin and is indeed willing to give his enemies brutal deaths. Due to this, he can never qualify as close to Pure Good.
- While this is understandable due to his tragic past, he has a xenophobic view over nearly all types of droids, even droids that had nothing to do with him losing his parents. He was extremely skeptical about Kuiilâs reprogrammed IG-11 and he refused to put his full trust in him, threatening to kill him again if he takes off his helmet, until he chose to save his life since him removing his helmet doesnât break his Creed. Season 3 also shows his clinginess towards IG-11, but he views him, as well as his newly recruited R5-D4 and IG-12 as tools rather than friends. He retains prejudice towards droids since he threatened a bar filled with them in spite of them not being threatening at all.
Trivia[]
- He and Din Grogu, alongside Anakin and Luke Skywalker, are the only father-son duos on this wiki.
- Coincidentally, both duos are from the Star Wars franchise despite not being similar to each other.
- He and Han Solo are the only non force-users in the Star Wars universe to be Inconsistently Admirable.
- Although he is Inconsistently Admirable right now, there is a chance this status may change in his titular upcoming film as he appears to be moving on from his anti-heroic qualities.
