“ | Didn't anyone tell you? I'm a riddle, dude. I eat the uncertainty principle for breakfast -- I was born the original loose cannon -- and I am one unpredictable feather-pluckin' walrus! Koo-koo-ka-freakin'-Choo! | „ |

“ | All that peace I felt is gone. I ruin it because I can. Because it's easy. I've fought for Preston. For the Camachos. I've fought for my friends. I've tried to make these people not just safe, but happy. I didn't go looking for these people. They walked into my life. And now the imbalance is restored. I've fought for the happiness of everyone around me. I've been willing to die for that happiness. I now realize I've never experienced happiness. I put on a good show… I simply don't know the meaning of the word… And I never will. | „ |

Wade Winston Wilson, better known as Deadpool is one of the main protagonists of the Marvel Universe, specifically serving as a major character in the X-Men franchise and the titular main protagonist of the franchise of the same name.
Despite being a mostly self-serving mercenary, as well as an on & off character, Deadpool has done multiple admirable deeds for the right reasons too.
His Good Ranking[]
What Makes Him Admirable?[]
- Despite being a mercenary and assassin for hire, Deadpool had a strict moral code and in most portrayals is shown refusing to kill innocents.
- Even though he was initially Cable's enemy, after being forced to work with him after being physically bound together, Deadpool became close friends with Cable. This also lead to Deadpool changing for the better, with him gradually starting to do a little more good than evil.
- During the Suicide Kings arc, when a job goes wrong and a building is destroyed, Deadpool shows genuine concern for the innocence dying and even chews out a bystander for just watching.
- At the end of that arc, after Deadpool is finally paid, he spends those earnings on a new apartment for his friend, Outlaw. He did this out of genuine kindness and to make it up for bleeding all over her old one.
- During Deadpool Secret Invasion, Deadpool infiltrates the Skrull Empire for Nick Fury and sabotages an entire generation of Super Skrulls. While one could argue this was self serving, after the payment didn't go through, Deadpool still didn't regret doing the deed.
- After learning that several body parts he had thrown away healed together to create an evil clone of himself, Deadpool went out of his way to stop him. He had nothing to gain from this at all.
- When he was cured of his healing factor, Deadpool decides to stay alive for Bob's protection, even though he wants to die to be with Lady Death.
- When a Necromancer named Michael resurrects the zombie US presidents, Deadpool accepts a contract by SHIELD to stop them. Once again, while he was upset that he didn't get paid for the job, he still didn't regret doing the deed and even helped his SHIELD handler find a new body after she was killed.
- During a one shot issue, Deadpool meets a suicidal girl named Danielle on top of his apartment building. After failing to cheer her up with comedy, Deadpool takes her to see Hamilton on Broadway before dropping her off at a mental hospital to get the help she needs.
- In Deadpool Kills Deadpool, Deadpool is contacted by his alternate reality counterparts, The Deadpool Corps and recruited to stop the evil Dreadpool from destroying all of creation out of spite.
- During this miniseries, Deadpool also kills the Evil Deadpool and his Ultimate universe counterpart. The latter of whom is a Pure Evil villain.
- When it finally came down to Deadpool and Dreadpool, Deadpool is quick to deconstruct Dreadpool's motivations and point out that what he's doing is wrong. Causing the villain to have a brief Heel Realization before Deadpool decapitates him for causing the death of the Deadpool Corps. This means Deadpool saved the entire omniverse from his evil counterpart, this wasn't self serving either.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He's an anti-hero, who is not afraid to brutally murder most of his enemies in gratuitously violent ways.
- He's completely disrespectful of adult life, downright sadistic, and willing to do pretty bad stuff for money.
- His self-justification is that his cancer-based healing factor makes his brain so messed up that he's completely insane and not responsible for his actions, to the point of having moral agency issues.
- For a good portion of his run, Deadpool's an on & off character as he's willing to take jobs for villains too.
- He can mistreat his friends from time to time. This even caused his former best friends, Weasel and Blind Al to turn on him.
