My name by the way is Dante. But you can call me 'Dante the Demon Killer', that's a nice ring to it don't you think
~ Dante

Dante is the main protagonist of the 2013 video game DmC: Devil May Cry. Much like his original counterpart he is the son of Sparda and Eva and twin brother of Vergil. When he was a child his mother was killed and his father sent to eternal damnation by Demon Lord Mundus.

He is voiced by Tim Philips.

His Good Ranking[]

What Makes Him Admirable?[]

  • Kills a Hunter that was hunting him down and responsible for wrecking a pier.
  • When he reunites with his brother he agrees to help him defeat the demons and Mundus, while he initially does so for selfish reason, over the course of the game he begins to care for humanity and wants to liberate them.
  • Hunts down and kills Poison, a demon responsible for producing an energy drink that the demons use to control the humans.
  • After getting attention from Raptor News Network, a news channel responsible for indoctrinating humans with false information on Dante and The Order and tortures demons who go against Mundus, he enters limbo to take out the demons who hosts the program, Bob Barbas.
  • When he meets a blind demon named Phineas, he agrees to find his cybernetic eye in exchange for Phineas guiding him to the Raptor News Tower.
  • Kills Bob Barbas, putting an end to the indoctrination of humans and torture of demons.
  • Saves Vergil from a demon who was attacking him while the SWAT invaded their hideout.
  • When Kat is kidnapped by Mundus he insists on rescuing her despite Vergil's protests.
  • Kidnaps Mundus's mistress Lilith and offer to ive her back in exchange for Kat.
  • Scolds Vergil for killing Lilith and not keeping their end of the deal.
  • When confronting Mundus, he taunts him as a means to distract him while Vergil closes the Hell Gate, revealing the truth of the demons to the humans and depriving Mundus of his immortality.
  • Defeats Mundus, ending his rule and finally liberating humanity.
  • Turns down Vergil's offer to rule alongside him, believing that the humans should be free pointing out that Kat, a human, was the reason they were able to defeat Mundus when the latter regards her as merely useful.
  • After impaling Vergil, when Kat begs Dante not to kill him, he spares him and help him up and states that the world is under his protection.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

  • He has several jerkish moments throughout the game, such as when a bouncer doesn't let him into a club since he wasn't on the guest list and writing 'F*** you' on the list.
  • He is a incredibly arrogant, mocking his enemies generally condescending towards others.
  • He is far too lethal to be PG or NPG, even though the demons are evil and needed to be killed, he is extremely brutal and takes great enjoyment in it.
