NOTE: This is a composite profile of Crazy Dave's international and Chinese versions, as they both go in separate directions in their continuities with Plants vs. Zombies 2 being the sole exception.

BECAUSE I'M CRAAAZY!!!!!
~ Crazy Dave's catchphrase.
I eat food off the floor!
~ Crazy Dave in Shop
Greetings, neighbor! The name's Crazy Dave. But you can just call me Crazy Dave. Listen, I've got a surprise for you. But first, I'll need you to clear your lawn. Use your shovel and dig up those plants! Ok goody, now for the surprise... We're going BOWLING! HERE, TAKE THIS WALL-NUT!! Why'd I put a Wall-nut on your hand? BECAUSE I'M CRAAAZY!!!!!!
~ Crazy Dave introducing himself.

Crazetopher David Blazing III, better known as Crazy Dave, simply know as Dave is the deuteragonist of the Plants vs. Zombies franchise. He serves as a supporter and a shopkeeper to help the player fight the zombies by using plants.

He was voiced by the game's creator, George Fan in Plants vs. Zombies, Orion Acaba in Plants vs. Zombies 2: It's About Time, and by in Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2.

His Good Ranking[]

What Makes Him Admirable?[]

  • He is the first person to utilize monstrous Plants by Bloom and Doom Seed co., which were used to defend people's lawns from the zombies, saving many lives.
  • In every game, he stops Dr. Zomboss from eating the brains of the players despite him getting away countless of times with his crimes.
  • According to some news articles in the PvZ2 trailer, he has saved the world countless of times from the zombies.
  • He gave the player advice on what each plant does, how they should defend their lawn whenever the Zombies move to a new location and/or the time of day is different and how each minigame works.
  • He awards the players with more unlockable shop items whenever they get what he lost.
  • In the web version of the first game, he encourages the player to get the full version of the game so that they can get more plants, defeat the evil Dr. Zomboss and have more fun with more minigames to play.
  • If you have enough money to buy an extra seed slot, he will offer you another so that you can bring 1 extra plant to a level, which continues until you have 10 seed slots total.
  • In the last level of the first game, he tries to tell the player the easy way to defeat Dr. Zomboss, only to get abducted by a Bungee Zombie.
  • He helps the player grow their Zen Garden and starts them off with Marigolds. He will also give them cash when they decide to sell plants they don't want anymore.
  • In the i, Zombie minigame, he uses fake cardboard plants out of fear his plants will be harmed.
  • In a Chinese trailer of PvZ2, he directly saves 3 other people from the Zombies when they were unable to defend any longer and has them join his quest in getting his taco.
  • He was the creator of the time-traveling vehicle Penny, who would help him in his quest to get his taco back and eventually try to rescue him when he was captured.
  • In PvZ2, he stops Dr. Zomboss from enacting Project Paradox and restored time back to its stability after realizing the errors of his gluttonous obsession over his taco.
  • He helps the plant players in the Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare games and Battle for Neighborville, as well as several other games such as PvZ3, PvZ Online, PvZ Adventures, PvZ All-Stars, and PvZ Match.
  • He is always a good father-figure for his niece Patrice and her boyfriend Nate Timely as shown in the comics and always helps them in their adventures.
  • In PvZ Heroes, he unites all of the Plant Heroes to stop the Zombie Heroes from taking over the world.
  • Despite being clearly unstable, he is still completely capable of discerning what is right from wrong and choosing to do the right things and caring for his friends regardless and was even able to fix multiple problems in Neighborville when it was being turned into Zomburbia, so he has a clear moral agency.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

  • In PvZ2, his insanity reaches his peak when he was willing to put all of time and space in danger just to re-eat his taco and did not show any remorse for the danger he caused even after he got what he wanted. Even Dr. Zomboss, despite still wanting Dave's brains, is visibly disgusted by his actions and tries to convince him to drop his quest in getting the taco but Crazy Dave refuses until he was offered a Taco with a Waffle. Due to not showing any guilt or remorse for this horrible act and only caring about his taco.
  • He accepted the offer of helping the zombies invade lawns in the i, Zombie minigame, meaning he is On & Off.
  • He does many questionable stuff due to his mischievous, jerkish and lazy behavior, such as telling the player that he eats food off the floor, telling the player to roll Wall-Nuts or breaking vases just because he's crazy, scaring people in the fog by jumping at them for no apparent reason, repeatedly telling Penny he doesn't like the objectives he has to complete in each day and wishing someone would carry him in a plane for the rest of his life.
    • In one level, he was willing to eat all three of the endangered Banana Launchers on the lawn.
  • He is an anti-hero in pvz2 as he was fighting the zombies for his own selfish goal, which was to re-eat his taco.
