Craig Jones is the main protagonist of the Friday franchise. He is portrayed by Ice Cube.

His Good Ranking[]

What Makes Him Admirable?[]

Friday[]

  • He helps Smokey take 200 dollars after the latter gets himself and the former into trouble with Big Worm, who attempts to kill both of them if they don't pay him.
  • He challenges Deebo to a fight after he assaults Debbie and manages to defeat him, leading to Smokey stealing the money from Deebo to pay off his debt and Red to get his bike and chain back from him.

Next Friday[]

  • He saves his cousin Day-Day and friend Roach from the Joker Brothers when they were kidnapped by them.
  • He saves Elroy from being shot by one of the Joker Brothers.
  • He manages to steal the Joker Brothers' money in order to get Day-Day and Elroy out of their debt.

Friday After Next[]

  • Alongside Day-Day, Craig stops the Santa Stealer from stealing anymore Christmas presents.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

  • He is mostly a reluctant anti-hero, as he usually acts heroically when his own life or his loved ones are in danger and whenever he wants to do something good, it's only for self-serving reasons.
  • He has too many jerkish moments to be Near Pure Good, let alone Pure Good.
  • He is also shown to be a womanizer, as he wants to hook up with Debbie, Karla and Donna throughout all of the 3 movies.
  • He is shown to be a coward in Friday After Next when it comes to Damon Pearly, a perverted ex-con. One example of this situation occurs when he pushed his little cousin Day-Day into his clutches after Day-Day attempted to escape the embrace of the ex-con, fearing that he himself would get it if Day-Day were to leave. Another example happens in a deleted but somewhat canon scene, where Craig and Day-Day return home after being fired from their jobs, hoping that Damon would not be waiting for them. Unfortunately, when two girls inquired loudly whether the cousins were still hosting their party, it caught Damon's attention, prompting him to summon them both into the apartment. While Day-Day complied and entered, Craig chose to evade the confrontation with the ex-con, leaving his younger cousin to face the situation alone until Damon insisted that he come inside as well.
