Examples include The Nightmare Knight, who has been killed and resurrected for over 10,000 years despite giving up on evil, Shadow the Hedgehog, who was forced to relive the day his best friend was killed for over 50 years, and Asriel Dreemurr, who became a soulless husk whose friends and family couldn't recognise.
