I promise.
I'll save you.
I swear I'll save you. I'll do whatever it takes to keep you safe. I'll come back again and again and again. I'll save you I swear!!!
~ Homura's obsession towards Madoka.
That's right, I yearn for a powerful hope that can overcome any kind of despair! I'm just an obsessed fanboy so it's all right that this love of mine is unrequited. I suppose...I can be called the Ultimate Ultimate Fanatic!
~ Nagito Komaeda expressing his obsession for hope.
You're totally obsessed with me, aren't you?
~ Ramona Flowers' response to Scott Pilgrim's infatuation with her.

These Inconsistently Admirable heroes are completely obsessed with something other than power (because obsession with power counts as megalomania or Heroic Power Hungry, and obsession with money/fame counts as greed or Fortune Hunters). Many obsessed heroes are also mentally ill, though some are merely eccentric or pure fanatics whose compulsive thoughts tend to be more problematic and corrupting than anything else.

Despite this, some of these types of heroes are still Pure Good mainly if they don't cause any harm or despair through their obsessions and have no corruptible qualities whatsoever. However, there are characters that can count as Near Pure Good due to being virtuous with some flaws in their behavior and their obsessions.
