Candace Gertrude Flynn (born July 11) is one of the two deuteragonists (alongside Perry the Platypus) of the Disney Channel/Disney XD animated series Phineas and Ferb, and the titular main protagonist of the 2020 film Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Candace Against the Universe.

She is the daughter of Linda Flynn, older sister of Phineas Flynn and older stepsister of Ferb Fletcher. Her day usually consists of attempting to bust her brother and stepbrother to their mother, Linda, because of their continuous inventing, which Candace disapproves of unless if it's for using them for personal gain or too busy focusing on other events, but by the time Linda arrives to see what they are doing, they always look perfectly innocent and normal much to her anger.

She is voiced by Ashley Tisdale.

What Makes Her Admirable?[]

Despite always trying to bust her brothers, she still cares for them and often takes part in their adventures.
Despite her flaws, she's very faithful to Jeremy and the latter's presence usually calms down the former.
She gave up a few chances of busting her brothers for the greater good, like:
- In "Traffick Cam Camper", she saved Phineas from falling off a bridge while letting a CD with evidence of her brothers' inventions fall.
- In "Lemonade Stand", she reconciled with Stacy while letting her mother miss the chance to see the lemonade business Phineas and Ferb made.
- In "Phineas' Birthday Clip-O-Rama!", after hearing Phineas' speech on his birthday, she sympathetically destroyed the tape with evidence against her brothers to save his birthday.
- In Candace Against the Universe, after defeating Mama, instead of showing her mom what happened for a chance at busting the boys, she tells her mother to go get pizza for dinner from across town.
In the episode "Ready for the Betty's", she reprimands the Betty's for there bratty behavior and reminds them that it is their fans that inspire them to make music.
In "Oh, There You Are, Perry", she felt guilty thinking she was responsible for Perry's disappearance and helped the boys rally the entire town to find him.
In "The Chronicles of Meap", she and Meap saved Phineas, Ferb and Isabella from Mitch's spaceship.
In Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension, she took part in stopping 2nd Dimension Doofenshmirtz' invasion while also having her memory erased to prevent Perry from being sent away.
In the episode "Where's Pinky", she comforts Isabella by telling her that Pinky will come back to her as Perry does the same with Phineas and Ferb.
In the episode “Meapless in Seattle” she throws her phone to trap Mitch and prevent his escape, breaking it in the process.
In the Halloween special "Night of the Living Pharmacists", she, Vanessa and Doofenshmirtz tried holding off the Doof-zombie invasion so that Phineas, Ferb and Isabella can reach the water tower to cure the city.
In Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Candace Against the Universe, she helped save the Earth from Super Super Big Doctor, her plant Mama and her henchmen.
In "Last Day of Summer", after Doofenshmirtz's Do-Over Inator starts sucking things out of existence, including Phineas and Ferb, and erasing all memory of them, she works with Isabella, Buford and Baljeet to bring them back. When the days keep getting shorter and they can't get to the inator in time to destroy it, she throws a spoon at the self destruct button to destroy it and end the time loops, bringing everything back to normal.
In "Cloudy with a chance of mom" she along with her brothers brought back there mother back to normal and saving the town after she turned into a storm cloud.

What Makes Her Inconsistent?[]

She's mainly an anti heroic antagonist towards Phineas and Ferb.
She's always lashing out and acting like a typical authoritarian, which is far too corrupting to be Pure Good and even Near Pure Good. Despite this corrupting quality being temporarily subverted in Candace Against The Universe, it becomes prevalent again in Last Day of Summer and does still seem prevalent in Act Your Age.
Whlie it's very justifiable that Phineas and Ferb's actions of building stuff without her parents knowledge and there are more than several instances their inventions can endanger people's lives when things go horribly wrong, her tendency with busting her brothers makes her insensitive killjoy at times and she sometimes just wants to ruin their fun, even going as far as to disregard others (especially her friendship with Stacy) in favor of the "busting".
- She has willingly messed with and endangered time just so she could bust her brothers. In "Phineas and Ferb's Quantum Boogaloo" when her future self goes back in time and shows her mother the rollercoaster her brothers made and succeeds in getting them in trouble, it causes creativity in children to be banned and children to eventually be stored away until adulthood. In "Last Day of Summer", she uses Doofenshmirtz's Do-Over Inator to repeat the last day of summer so she could have more chances to bust her brothers which eventually spawns rifts that suck things out of existence and all memory of them are forgotten, including Phineas and Ferb, which would've caused all of reality to cease to exist.
  - It's worth to mention that Phineas and Ferb themselves have their own moment of recklessness in the former episode through their own use of time machine. However, in stark contrast of their sister, they were aware of the risk on everyone's lives as well as space-time continuum while experimenting with time and time-traveling even before wisely ceased its use thanks to alternate future Candace's warnings about the worst thing that could happened should they messed up.
- The aforementioned fiasco in "Last Day of Summer" proved to be insufficient for Candace to grow out of her obsession in busting her brothers, something which mitigated by the fact she eventually will in "Act Your Age".
She gets very easily jealous whenever she thinks Jeremy is dating another girl, with her even chasing a guy who looked like a girl and had the name of one, only to find out they were initials and he was a boy. Not to mention acting like a stalker because of her crush on him, with her Jeremy obsessed side even has Linda seemily losing her composure with the latter twitching her eye.
There are times where she tries to bust her brothers even when she joins in and enjoys their projects (such as Skiddley Whiffers).
Despite caring for her brothers, there are many times she acted like a jerk towards them (at least towards Phineas is a bit more understandable than Ferb).
