~ Bunga's catchphrase. |
Bunga is the adoptive nephew of Timon and Pumbaa, adopted brother of Simba, the best friend of Kion and the deuteragonist in the 2015 TV film The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar and its 2016 follow-up series The Lion Guard and the tritagonist of Season 3, both based on the 1994 film The Lion King. He's a honey badger who, along with Kion and their friends Fuli, Ono, and Beshte, form The Lion Guard to protect The Pride Lands from threats such as hyenas.
He's voiced by Joshua Rush.
His Good Ranking[]
What Makes Him Admirable?[]
- He protected many animals and the Pridelands as a member of the Lion Guard.
- He is the bravest and most fearless member of the Lion Guard.
- He was the only member of the Lion Guard in the pilot episode to offer and tell Kion that he wanted to join because Kion himself chooses the rest of the members to be in the Lion Guard, though Kion was already planning to choose Bunga either way to join.
- He babysat some animals in "Babysitter Bunga".
- He saved Pim, a hyrax from getting eaten by Ushari.
- When Ushari attacked Kion and gave him a scar, Bunga went in his way to save him.
- Although Bunga ends up killing Ushari, it was unknown if he meant to do that since he clearly did it to save Kion.
- He apologized to Kion for doubting that he is evil and tried to save him from falling off a cliff.
- He helped get tuliza from Mama Binturong for Kion to help his scar.
- Along with the rest of the Lion Guard, he joined Rani and her Night Pride.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He is far too arrogant and reckless to be NPG, like when he scared a lot of little animals by telling them about the Zimwi (which some didn't even know about until he just told them), calling Kion (his own best friend) evil for not being able to control his anger when he got a scar from Ushari, scaring Tiifu when they got stuck in cave and even telling her there could be monsters and more danger to scare her even more (despite her being scared of the dark) and annoying Simba to the point where he roared at his face.
- Sometimes, Bunga doesn’t even take some situations seriously even if it’s necessary, he mostly just jokes around even in dangerous situations like it’s nothing, while he does protect others when they are in danger, he still jokes around when he really shouldn’t.
- He bullied Ushari for no reason in "The Rise Of Makuu" making him indirectly responsible for him turning evil and Scar's return. And he never feels bad about it.
