~ Bugs' motivational speech he gives to everyone in the Cartoon Network Superstars commercial with the tagline: "On MAX, Unique stori- Unique cartoons, await you".
Bugs Bunny is the main protagonist of the Looney Tunes franchise.
He was voiced by the late Mel Blanc, Jeff Bergman, the late Greg Burson, Billy West, the late Joe Alaskey, Samuel Vincent and currently voiced by Eric Bauza.
He stopped multiple villains that antagonized him such as Elmer Fudd, Yosemite Sam, Willoughby, Beaky Buzzard, Daffy Duck, Witch Hazel, Rocky and Mugsy, Wile E. Coyote, The Crusher, Count Bloodcount, Gossamer, and many others.
He repeatedly stopped Marvin the Martian from destroying the Earth many times. As seen in the episode "Hare-Way to the Stars" for example, he caused the Martian base to blow up with a explosive after foiling Marvin's plan to blow up the Earth.
He saved many animals and forest critters from getting eaten, hunted and killed by Taz in episodes like "Devil May Hare" for example.
He prevented two plane crashes from happening in the episodes "Hare Lift" and "Devil's Feud Cake".
He also stopped a jet from crashing into the towers (caused by The Gremlin) in "Falling Hare" (1943).
He saved Bigfoot two times such as saving him from being killed by the Hazmats and saving him from the Hunters in episodes like "The Bigfoot in Bed", "World Wide Wabbit", and "Bugs And Bigfoot".
He saved the lake from being taken over by Squint Eastwood in the New Looney Tunes episode "Beaver Fever".
In "Baby Buggy Bunny", Bugs Bunny manages to defeat and get Ant Hill Harry (alias Baby Face Finster) arrested, whom is a threatening thirty-five-year-old man who committed robbery in the Last National Bank disguised with stilts, dark clothes, a carriage, and baby clothing, and violently torturing Bugs while in his infant persona.
Despite being an enemy of Daffy Duck at first, their friendship later started growing and became better friends from time to time.
Since he has became best friends of Daffy Duck and Squeaks, he is always willing to help them on their adventures.
In Carrotblanca, when Bugs was a barkeeper who was a tad bit stern towards Daffy, he still shows to be a caring lover towards Penelope Pussycat who worn her heart again and again. Who, despite having a back and forth relationship with Penelope, was always sharing good advice about what to do in the present and future to Penelope when she was dating Sylvester at the moment, even before Penelope went back to dating Bugs again due to Pepe Le Pew being in a plane she and Sylvester was in.
He gave three coins to Playboy Penguin when the penguin was doing charity out of starvation and thought to reprimand Daffy for berating the penguin in Bah, Humduck! A Looney Tunes Christmas.
He shows genuine care for his friends like Porky for example (including some of his enemies like Gossamer in the episode "Hair-Raising Hare" and Witch Hazel in "Broom-Stick Bunny").
Despite Mickey Mouse being the mascot of Disney and Bugs being the mascot of Warner Bros, they are not enemies and are rather known as allies since Who Framed Roger Rabbit?.
He was willing to help any of his friends with their needs, even if he didn't need to. One good example includes Bah, Humduck! A Looney Tunes Christmas, where he had to find many Ghosts of Christmas like Tweety, Granny and Sylvester to change the error of Daffy's ways as a greedy abusive businessman, which helped saving the Looney Tunes by bringing Christmas spirit to them all.
He was responsible for coaching and motivating many Cartoon Network characters to make an legendary presence to fight "superstar" rivals on HBO Max and making their presence just as important if not more so, which he does with oratory and great public speaking skills in the Cartoon Network Superstars commerical.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
He has a pretty sadistic side to him being manipulative and calculating with his crafty hoaxes and deceptive antics he inflicts onto his tormentors and enemies, especially since he willingly uses his talents of decoying pranks and altering his surroundings with some deceit and mind games in order to trick and manipulate anyone's impulses into dismay, sometimes partaking in fraud by pretending to take the role of a doctor or games show host to do so. While his schemes and acts of trickery are typically done in self-defense, this still made him get way too lethal & destructive oftentimes, sometimes do some otherwise villainous deeds, and many brutal acts that are too cruel and corrupting, these acts include:
Repeatedly getting Daffy Duck shot by Elmer Fudd (which should have got him killed way once too many times if Daffy wasn't able to revive or survive easily) in the entire "Hunting Season" trilogy in episodes like "Duck! Rabbit, Duck!", "Rabbit Fire", and "Rabbit Seasoning".
Burying Elmer alive in "The Wacky Wabbit" and doing it again in "The Old Grey Hare" (in the latter short, he tops it off by blowing him up with a stick of dynamite).
Forcing a dog to commit suicide by blowing his brains out with a pistol in “Hare Ribbin’” (in the director’s cut, Bugs kills the dog himself by shooting him in the mouth). It doesn't help that in the same episode, Bugs Bunny did this with a self-satisfied smile on his face.
Robbing a carrot patch as the Masked Marauder in “Buckaroo Bugs”.
Shooting someone in a theatre crowd just for coughing, and repeatedly tried murdering a mouse that was in his piano with explosives to blow said mouse up and other lethal methods such as assaulting a mouse during his piano act as well in in "Rhapsody Rabbit".
Using a saw to cut Florida itself in half in "Rebel Rabbit" (as well as sabotaging society by filling in the gaps of the Grand Canyon, shutting off Niagara Falls, vandalizing the Washington Monument and tying up all the railroads into a big bow, which he did to make rabbits more valuable creatures to hunt)
Making a dog, that was hanging for dear life on a clothesline high in the sky, fall to his death by lifting its fingers for the canine to fall onto the ground in "A Hare Grows in Manhattan".
Detonating an oil drilling site with the use of explosives, just to defeat a hostile cowboy in "Oily Hare".
Planting a bomb inside of the Easter Bunny's bag to kill off the Easter Bunny as a form of revenge for the Easter Bunny tricking Bugs into delivering eggs for him, and laughing at the Easter Bunny's misery as well in "Easter Yeggs" (which he did after tormenting Elmer Fudd by getting him to slam his face through a door and painting his head into a easter egg in order to get a kid to whack him on the head with a hammer).
Forcing a chimp to get him coins with playing music (as well as kicking it and taking his share of the money he got), and was also a peeping tom who peeked through a woman's window when she was changing (which got her shrieking in horror) in the episode "Hurdy-Gurdy Hare".
While escaping from Marvin, he once (unintendedly) caused a Martian invasion to happen on Earth growing from underground by snatching an 'Instant Martian' container in "Hare-Way to the Stars" (and he just runs away from the situation and does nothing about it despite being resourceful and intelligent).
Faking his death various times in episodes like "Hare Force" and "The Wabbit Who Came To Supper".
Forcing the Red Riding Hood into a harmful situation with gold that is painful to land on while lifting heavy objects to avoid sitting on the goal, and he freed the Big Bad Wolf instead of helping the vulnerable Red Riding Hood in "Little Red Riding Rabbit".
Becomes a full-on extremist by trying to fight for the significance of rabbits in terms of bounty by showing that he and his entire species is dangerous. In one scene, he even saws Florida off of the United States in "Rebel Rabbit"
There was a moment in the film "Box-Office Bunny", when he outsmarted Elmer and Daffy by using grease and tripping them both over to make them skyrocket and get themselves trapped into a Friday the 13th-equse horror film (and eventually the two desperately plead for help and screaming in fear, and Bugs gets facetious and cracked a joke at their expense getting into the big picture and wanting to get out). It's not helping that he didn't pay for his tickets when Elmer forced him to leave because of that, and used a ticket inspecting officer disguise to mess with him.
Tried to kill Daffy Duck by inflicting bear trap onto Daffy's beak, then throw a vicious rabid animal at him to make it beat up Daffy and then dropping a bomb at him during their fight to blow up the both of them, which got Daffy to make him slam into the Warner Bros. tower and plummeting to the ground with a nasty fall, and he shows no remorse for that murder attempt in the Warner Bros. 100th Anniversary crossover episode of Teen Titans Go!.
He is pretty mischievous since his levels in mischief can go too far into the realms of schadenfreude at times (as discussed above), as he is willing to drive people insane with his improvised shenanigans, exploit the weaknesses of his enemies and often gets away unscathed in many shorts while relishing with glee in his acts of outsmarting his enemies (whether if the tricks he pulls are done for good reason or if it simply went too far, as seen in episodes like "The Hasty Hare", "Hare Do" and "Easter Yeggs").
Causing a down-on-his-luck gambling criminal, named Steve Brodie, to commit suicide at the Brooklyn Bridge, right after making him driven insane about humans turning into rabbits in "Bowery Bugs".
Plus, there's times when he antagonized Elmer unprovoked like when he drove him insane in several episodes like "Rabbit of Seville". One time driving him nuts at the Yellowstone National Park in "Wabbit Twouble", when all Elmer wanted to do was to have peace and relaxation and did not once intend to harm or kill Bugs like Elmer normally does.
Pretending to be dumb to trick a brittle fox named the Big Bad Wolf to gruesomely put himself into an Iron Maiden and telling the fox's son to check it later while chuckling to himself in "False Hare" after he has been tricking the fox into falling into his own booby traps several times.
While not entirely in his character, "Elmer's Pet Rabbit" has Bugs act incredibly aggressive, arrogant and thuggish to the point of complaining about eating carrots and act as a troublemaking nuisance to Elmer for little to no reason. Thankfully, he does some sign of remorse for how much he's been tormenting Elmer Fudd throughout at the end of the short, and while mischievous, he does progressively change into a more justified prankster whose acts of skullduggery are typically done as karmic justice rather than just being a complete troublemaker.
Even though he is reasonable, friendly and nowhere near as heinous as Daffy Duck is, Bugs often shows to relish in being really smug, flippant and a complete smart aleck, as he shows himself to be extremely cheeky and sarcastic towards his enemies as he often teases & mocks them shamelessly almost all the time with many wisecracks because of his street-smarts and quick wit (thus angering them while Bugs Bunny has fun poking fun at them for their many shortcomings). This means he has provided several pompous, overconfident, impudent and self-centered moments that can make him act like a jerk.
He can be kind of selfish at times (especially since his acts of trickery and pranks often benefits in him over his adversaries being more ill-fated than him such as the time he pulled a hat-trapping trick on Yosemite Sam by using his hat and strap to trap him thanks to his short height so he could be inconvenienced and left behind at a train station instead of being on a Miami train full of ladies that kissed him all over his face in the episode "Bugs Bunny Rides Again"), which does make him an anti-heroic Karma Houdini.
