Teth-Adam, better known as Black Adam, is one of the two overarching antagonists (alongside Mr. Sivana) of the 2019 DC Extended Universe superhero film Shazam! and the titular main protagonist of its 2022 spinoff of the same name.
He is a former slave of Kahndaq and the former champion of Shazam the Great Wizard who had released The Seven Deadly Sins after his family was killed by assassins. This act would soon result in the death of millions and Shazam imprisoning him for five thousand years. He would later return from his imprisonment to save Kahndaq from huge destruction that awaits in the modern times.
He is portrayed by Dwayne Johnson, who also portrayed Maui in Moana, Luke Hobbs in The Fast and the Furious series, and The Foundation in Fortnite.
His Goodness Zone[]
What Makes Him Admirable[]
- Although he attacked Khandaq when he first got his powers, he only did it to avenge his son's death at the hands of King Ahk-Ton, ending the latter's tyranny over Khandaq in doing so.
- He formed a friendship with Amon.
- He freed Khandaq from Intergang.
- He saved Amon when Intergang kidnapped him.
- He gave up his powers and willingly went to prison after he almost got Amon killed.
- He was crucial in defeating Sabbac who planned on enslaving Earth.
- He rejected a position as Khandak's ruler, believing it wasn't right.
What Makes Him Inconsistent[]
- His character is first and foremost an anti-hero.
- He is extremely lethal, as he kills almost every villain he encounters even if they are not all that bad.
- He is FAR too reckless and destructive to even be NPG. When his son was killed, he attacked Khandaq killing millions of people and even released the Seven Deadly Sins that killed the Council of Wizards (except Shazam). While he does give up his power, he only did so out of remorse for endangering Amon and not to atone for his past.
