I don't know what piece of Elisabet I'm missing. I don't know what you have that I don't. I looked through all the data from your Focus. You were raised as an outcast. Shunned and isolated, just like me. So what's the difference?! What's my defect?
~ Beta's most famous quote.

Beta is the tritagonist of the 2022 video game Horizon Forbidden West and a supporting character in Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores.

She is a clone of the 21st-Century scientist Elisabet Sobeck, who was created by the ancient think tank organisation Far Zenith within the Odyssey ship, as means to fix GAIA to be used for the organisation's own ends. She later subsequently betrays the Zeniths and sides with Aloy in her group to stop the organisation and their goals on Earth, as well as stopping the rogue AI, HEHPAESTUS.

Like her genetic twin Aloy and her genetic blueprint Elisabet Sobeck, Beta is voiced by Ashly Burch and mo-capped by Hannah Hoekstra.

History[]

This section is too long. Visit here for more details: Beta (Horizon)'s Synopsis on the Heroes Wiki.

Her Good Ranking[]

What Makes Her Admirable?[]

  • Beta has escaped the Zeniths all by herself, in an attempt to warn Aloy and the rest regarding the Zenith's progress of fixing GAIA for their own ends, and later tampered the logs from 237 to 236, by sending the former number through the ELEUTHIA transmission within GAIA to Aloy, before hiding through an ectogenic chamber in Ninmah Research Facility, in an attempt to distract Verbena Sutter.
  • She later manages to inject HEPHAESTUS into the printer matrix during Aloy and co.'s attack of the Zenith base, while she was being tortured by the other Zeniths including Bieri and Visser, turning the tide of the battle to Aloy and her allies and giving them a significant advantage, even if it means to leave HEPHAESTUS in the wild again.
  • While Sylens' role of the attack in the Zenith base is primarily crucial and pivotal with his anti-shielding weapon, Beta's role in using HEPHAESTUS to be injected into the machine printers is significant, as it also meant the defeat of the other Zenith members and curbing the Specter drone army. This also gave Aloy the advantage to put an end to Visser and Tilda, once and for all.

What Makes Her Inconsistent?[]

  • She is known to be a pessimist, as shown where she is unwilling to help Aloy out, due to her fear of being recaptured by her tormentors again, which often caused problems to Aloy, and in two instances led to heated conversations between one another.
  • Despite her college-level education through the Aspasia and Aristotle learning modules via the APOLLO database being extremely useful towards her allies, Beta can be uncooperative towards them, and as such would spend her time locking herself inside her own room, growing paranoid over her fear towards the Zeniths.
