  • Refused to sacrifice a smaller universe to preserve his own, managing to save them both.
  • Saved Gul Dukat from being killed by the Maqui.
  • Offered his friend Cal Hudson a chance to return to Starfleet when he joined the Maqui.
  • Worked with Dukat to stop Central Command's weapons smuggling.
  • Refused to kill Hudson despite Dukat urging him to.
  • Saved O'Brien when he was captured and tortured by Cardassians.
  • Refused to leave Quark behind when they were both captured by the Jem'Hadar.
  • Saved Kira from the Obsidian Order alongside Odo and Garak.
  • When an old Cardassian security system is set off on the station Sisko is the one to defeat it it, saving the lives of 2000 people in the process.
  • Pulls strings to get the death penalty taken off the table for Thomas Riker.
  • Helps Nog join starfleet.
  • Claimed to be Gabriel Bell after the real man was killed and saved all the hostages in District A, keeping the timeline in tact.
  • Saves Odo from Enabran Tain despite the orders of his superiors.
  • After learning of Gowron's plot to attack Cardassia he found a way to stop it without causing a war with the Klingon Empire by mentioning it in Garak's presence, knowing he'd passed it along to Dukat and the federation wouldn't be blamed.
  • He and Worf convinced Gowron to call off his forces during the first battle of Deep Space Nine.
  • Stopped Leyton from destroying the Defiant and his larger goal of creating a Military Occupation on Earth.
  • Heped prove Worf's innocence when he was accused of murder.
  • Helped Quark after Brunt seized his assets.
  • Put himself in danger by going to the Founders' homeworld in order to save Odo when he was sick.

  • Went back in time to prevent a plot by Darvin to kill Captain Kirk, averting potentially disastrous changes to the timeline.
  • Worked with Rom to get Jake and Nog to reconcile after they fell out.

  • Agreed to provide a prisoner for Quark to trade to the Dominion in exchange for the release of his mother.
  • Brought the Romulans into the Dominion War in an effort to save the Alpha Quadrant.
  • Stayed behind during the Siege of AR-588 to fight the Jem'Hadar despite being massively outnumbered and suceeded in winning the battle.
  • Comforts Nog when he is hurt in the Siege.
  • Unlike most of Jadzia's other friends he was quick to accept Ezri and supported during her time on the station.
  • Turns a blind eye to Bashir and O'Brien using an illegal Romulan mind probe since they were doing it to save Odo's life and he didn't want to let his friend die.
  • Encouraged Worf to accept the job as Klingon Ambassador.
  • Trapped Dukat who intended to destroy the universe in the Fire Caves.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

  • Coerces Quark into going on a dangerous mission to the Gamma Quadrant by having the Grand Nagus personally order him to do so.
  • Extorts Garak into helping save Kira from the Obsidian Order by threatening to get him kicked off the station.
  • He has wrathful moments like punching Garak twice for assassinating Vreenak behind his back or choking Quark for taking advantage of everyone in the station having to evacuate.
  • Though he evacuated first he rendered a maqui planet uninhabitable for fifty years in order to capture Eddington.
  • He and Garak plotted together to bring the Romulans into the war against the Dominion by having a criminal named Grathon Tolar fake a recording of the Dominion planning to attack the Romulan homeworld. When Tolar attempts to kill Quark Sisko bribes him for his silence then reluctantly provides gel that can be used to make Biogenic Weapons to a contact of Garak's who has a rod needed to fake the recording. When the romulan senator Vreenak sees through the deception and Garak has him murdered to blame it on the Dominion Sisko decides to hide it, considering the compromise worth the lives saved.
  • While well-intentioned he allows Bashir and O'Brien to use an illegal romulan mind probing device on Luther Sloan which he himself acknowledges is illegal and unethical.
