WELCOME TO THE STEAMWORKS, HUMAN. THINGS HAVEN'T BEEN GOING YOUR WAY HAVE THEY?. I'M AFRAID WHAT YOU ARE AFTER HAS...EXPIRED. FIVE SOULS ARE ALL THAT WAIT FOR YOU IF YOU REACH THE CASTLE. BUT I'M GUESSING YOU PIECED THAT TOGETHER ALREADY. IT IS INTERESTING, HUMANS AND MONSTERS WHILE DIFFERENT, DO SHARE ONE THING, A HUNGER FOR THE SOUL OF THE OTHER, I SUPPOSE THAT IS NO DIFFERENT HERE.
~ Axis meeting Clover in the Genocide Route
I...DID ALL I COULD. I WAS ONLY ABLE TO SAVE A FEW BUT...NOW I KNOW YOU WILL LEAVE THIS PLACE UNSATISFIED...THE SAME FATE THEY MET MAY AWAIT ME...BUT I WILL NO LONGER RUN FROM YOU. THAT CANNON OF DEATH YOU WIELD IS STRONG...BUT AS YOU CAN SEE I HAVE DRAWN A "WEAPON" OF MY OWN. NOW...AS THE KIDS SAY, "COME AT ME".
~ Axis speech before fighting Clover

Axis Model 014 or simply known as Axis is a major antagonist of the Undertale fanmade prequel, Undertale Yellow.

He is the last and latest model of a discontinued line of Guardian Robots created by Chujin Ketsukane before he passed away, these robots were meant to protect Monsters from rogue Humans, while Chujin worked in the latest model in secret, an incident with a Human made Chujin realize how dangerous this robots were and so he shut down the latest Axis model he created to make sure nothing like this happens again.

While usually meant to be a villainous character, some of the player's actions can turn him into the heroic secondary antagonist of the Genocide Route.

His Good Ranking[]

What Makes Him Admirable?[]

  • He was created by Chujin to serve as a Guardian Robot who would protect Monsterkind from rogue humans.
  • While his programming forced him to do it, he still successfully neutralized and killed the Integrity Soul Human, stoping their murderous rampage for good.
  • If he's complimented multiple times on a Neutral Run or Ceroba uses "Plan B" on Pacifist, he can be spared. Which results in him redeeming himself and stop acting as a killing machine like his protocol code originally intended, which was the main reason of why he was so insistent on trying to kill Clover in the first place.
  • When he was badly injured by Clover, upon realizing how dangerous they truly are, Axis, even after being in a critical state, still chosed to risk his life and rushed to start evacuations in hopes of saving the most robots he can from Clover's rage, proving he's also selfless.
  • He manages to warn Guardener about the Human, which results in her fight being skipped, it is also possible her robot minions were also saved since they aren't seen at all during the Genocide Run.
    • Even if he couldn't save everyone, he was still able to save a few, though the exact number isn't stated, it's safe to assume he atleast saved more than 5 robots, which is a lot considering how badly injured he was.
  • If The Genocide Route is aborted, he's actually able to save more people, though the exact number still isn't left clear.
    • While he does wish for Clover's death after they spare him, it is completely justified given their previous actions towards him and the rest of the Steamwork's robots.
  • Realizing he has nowhere to run and that he atleast managed to save a few, he grabs a lid as a shield and fights Clover in a last attempt of neutralizing them.
  • Even if he killed the Blue Soul Human, he lefts clear he didn't mean to do it and that he's sorry, but unfortunately he's still killed by Clover.
  • While monsters like Martlet, Starlo and Ceroba do similar things, Axis stands out due to his lower resources, since in comparision, all of the 3 mentioned before were informed on the killer Human and therefore had more time to start Evacuations, while Axis on the other hand could only evacuate after becoming operative and being badly injured by Clover. Not to mention he is way weaker in comparision to them, and even with that he still passes the standard by his unique deed of stopping The Blue Soul Human's murderous spree, which is something no other character has done.

What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]

  • In most runs he's an homicidal robot that will repeadly try to murder Clover even if they have done nothing wrong, even to the point of chasing them, trying to use an extremely corrosive acid on their skin or using his energy attacks to try to kill them.
  • He's way too lethal. His murder of Integrity for example, while justified, was still way too lethal, to the point even he and Chujin felt remorse on how they killed the Child.
  • He can be an extreme jerk and also rather arrogant, constantly gloating over Clover's gullibity when they fall victim of his traps, or when the only method to spare him in Neutral is by constantly complimenting him, and he even says afterwards how Clover's words helped to confirm his narcisissm, though he states this was a "joke" given how his personality is, it would be no surprise if it was true.
  • He has minor moral agency issues since his programming is what forces him to kill/capture humans in the first place, although this is minor since he still knows from right and wrong and can eventually redeem himself.

Trivia[]

  • He's one of the 2 Undertale Yellow characters to be Inconsistently Admirable, alongside Clover.
