Asura is the main protagonist as well as the titular character of the action beat 'em up video game Asura's Wrath.
He was a deity who was betrayed by his former comrades, killed and framed for murder. The game, developed by Capcom and CyberConnect2, involves Asura coming back to seek vengeance against an impressive lineup of villains with incredible power, all deities. His incredible wrath burns on and never extinguishes, at least not until the end of the game.
He is voiced by Liam O'Brien in the English version, and Hiroki Yasumoto in the Japanese version.

What Makes Him Admirable?[]
- In the past he protected humanity along with the other Guardian Generals from the Gohma.
- He cares deeply for his family and was greatly affected by Durga's death.
- When confronted in the Emperor's castle by Sergei, Wyzen, and Kalrow, who tried to persuade him to join what they called "The Great Rebirth", he declined.
- When confronted for the death of the emperor he tried to reason with the soldiers and Wyzen that it wasn't him only fighting because they wanted to kill him.
- He attempted to save Mithra from the Seven Deities. Only to be killed by Deus.
- After being resurrected by The Golden Spider he protects innocent civilians from Gohma Howlers, and Wyzen's goons. Unfortunately he failed when Wyzen dropped several bombs and a Gohma Crusher appeared and took the souls of several humans that was killed by Wyzen who took the souls and turned them into Mantra for himself.
- He defeats Wyzen and ends up saving an entire continent from being literally crushed from his finger.
- He saves Ahria and a baby she was holding from a Gohma Howler.
- He empathizes with Ahria saying he knows what it is like to lose loved ones growing a bond with her.
- He defeats Karlow.
- Despite having a grudge against Augus his bitter feelings towards him start to slip away.
- He tries to save as many civilians as possible from Olga's missiles including Ahria only failing due to a language barrier between them she could not understand.
- Ahria's death made Asura filled with grief and he became for rightfully disgusted by the gods for killing innocents.
- He defeats Deus bringing an end of him turning human souls into Mantra.
- He along with Yasha saves Gaea from Gohma Viltra.
- He tries to save Mithra from a grief stricken Olga only for the Golden Spider who reveals himself as Chakravartin to intervene by killing Olga but using Mithra as a vessel.
- After Chakravartin reveals himself to be one behind everything and tried to manipulate Asura into becoming his heir, the latter attempted to kill him and save Mithra even when in his Berserker form when his body was disintegrating from the power of his wrath.
- After his final battle with Yasha to decide who is stronger he honors his death by giving him a fist bump and saying he was always a brother not an enemy showing despite their rivalry deep down he still cared for him.
- He saves Gaea from being destroyed by Chakravartin's cataclysmic beam after turning into his Destructor form.
- When confronted by Chakravartin who offers Asura to become his heir once more he refuses and instead chose to face the true god head on.
- When a freed Mithra attempted to stop him from killing Chakravartin knowing all the mantra will be lost and all mantra-using beings will die including Asura, he still went along and killed the god despite knowing the consequences finally bringing an end him and his so-called world around.
- In his final moments he comforts Mithra telling her to smile and that his wrath is finally gone as he dies in peace.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- He is far too wrathful and lethal to be Near Pure Good often shown to be brutally beating his enemies often spouting out violent language such as "Worthless scum! I'll kill you all!!!" to the Gohma and "I'll rip out your blind eyes!" to Augus even though the latter showed no malicious intent. At one point he was willing beat a defenseless Shinkoku soldier in an attempt to satisfy his wrath. Another time he gutted and stomped on Sergei's head even while he was still alive. Although to be fair Sergei did get what he deserved.
- He can be a jerk to others especially Yasha often with the two butting heads with each other over getting to their enemies, sometimes even trying to reject his help.
