Ashley Joanna "Ash" Williams is the main protagonist of the Evil Dead franchise, while he started as a Supermarket clerk, he got possessed by Deadites which resulted in him fulfilling his prophecy to rid the world of all the evils an example being the Necronomicon demon.

What Makes him Admirable?[]
- Showed genuine remorse when forced to kill the Deadite Linda
- Saved Annie Knowby from the Deadites, despite having just met her.
- Seemed to genuinely care for future love interests, like Sheila and Amanda.
- Helped the people of 1300 A.D. prepare to do battle with the Army of Darkness.
- Defeated Evil Ash, one of the franchise's most heinous villains.
- Wanted to mend the rift between him and his daughter, Brandy.
- Put humanity's safety above his own to defeat Kandar the Destroyer.
- Ash, Pablo Simon Bolivar, and Kelly Maxwell started to help each other with fighting the evils.
- Spared Ruby Knowby by accepting a deal that would give her the ex-mortis and would save Florida from being attacked by demons.
- When Ruby Demon's children wanted to get the Necronomicon so that they could use it for their purposes he agreed to take down them so that they could retrieve the book.
- Despite his father being a bad father to Ash they still reconciled when Ash saved him from a Deadite.
- After being manipulated by Baal to go back to the past to make sure his younger self didn't find the Necronomicon, he challenged him to a fight without powers and weapons.
- After defeating Baal, he went back to the present day and became the Elk Grove Hero due to saving the world once again.
- Ash's willpower to save the world was so high that he got his best friend to kill him so that he could go to The Deadlands to take back Brandy's spirit and put it back into her body.
- Knowing that Kandar the Destroyer was the one who was going to destroy everything, he let his ignorance go to fulfill the prophecy of saving the world
- While at the beginning of Evil Dead Season 1, he was going to leave town after the Necronomicon was reopened, he let go of this Inconsistent quality to save everyone
- even after he took down one of the biggest threats he had faced, it is shown in the ending of season 3 that he will keep taking down the evil forces left in the world.
What Makes him Inconsistent?[]
- He's often characterized as an arrogant, misanthropic jerk
- Was shown to be motivated by personal gain, to the point of allowing Ruby to seize the Necronomicon in exchange for a simpler life in Jacksonville
- Threatened a crowd of "primitive screwheads" with a shotgun
- Revealed to be somewhat xenophobic in Ash vs. Evil Dead.
- Tends to immediately hit on the most attractive women he meets, even when it's not warranted
- Has a history of drug use and alcoholism
