Armin Arlert is one of the two deuteragonists (alongside Mikasa Ackerman) of the Attack on Titan franchise.
He is the best friend of Eren Yeager and Mikasa Ackerman. After the fall of Shiganshina, he joined the Survey Corps and inherited the Colossal Titan from Bertolt Hoover. Four years later, he eventually succeeded Hange Zoë as the Scout Commander.
He is voiced by Marina Inoue in Japanese and Jessie James Grelle in English.

What Makes Him Admirable?[]
- In general, he is an extremely kindhearted and selfless person who tries to see the good in people and hates violence.
- Uses his intelligence to aid his friends, such as sealing Trost, taking out titans without the use of 3DMG or finding Reiner's hiding place in the battle of Shiganshina, amongst many other things.
- He was saddened over the loss of his grandfather after the mission to reclaim Wall Maria.
- Tried to help Jean in the cooking competition.
- When Reiner helped him during training, he insisted on pulling his own weight, despite being physically weak.
- Went into shock after witnessing the massacre of his squad and felt extreme survivor's guilt afterwards.
- Gave his gas and blades to Mikasa before preparing to kill himself in order to prevent himself from dying to a titan, before Connie carries him while riding to the HQ.
- Tries to reason with the Garrison when they try to have Eren executed.
- After battling the Female Titan, he selflessly offered to stay behind when there was only one horse, until Historia arrived with two horses.
- Identified Annie as the Female Titan.
- After being forced to kill a First Interior Squad member to save Jean, he is extremely guilt ridden and throws up.
- Joined the Survey Corps to retake Wall Maria and save humanity.
- Sacrifices his life by withstanding Bertolt Hoover’s steam just to buy Eren Yeager time to defeat him.
- When he wakes up, he immediately checks on Sasha, wondering why she was so badly injured, right after he had almost been burned to death.
- Felt guilty that he was saved instead of Erwin, developing a case of Survivor's guilt.
- After transforming into the Colossal Titan in Liberio, he felt guilty for killing many people, lamenting that this was how Bertholdt must have felt.
- Grieved Sasha's death at the hands of Gabi.
- Visits Annie in her crystal for years straight.
- When Eren hurt Mikasa's feelings, he attacked Eren despite being physically much weaker and getting badly injured.
- Opposed Eren's genocide, despite knowing that it was to protect Paradis.
- Offered to sacrifice himself to bring Connie's mum back, in order to save Falco.
- Worked together with his former enemies to stop the Rumbling.
- Offered to use his Colossal Titan power to slow the Wall Titans down, to buy time for his comrades to take off, despite the huge chances of himself dying in the attempt, but he was willing to sacrifice himself if necessary. He only backed down because Reiner told him he was the only chance they had to stop Eren, and Hange reminded him that they could not afford to lose or use up any Titan powers.
- Following Eren's death, he spoke up to relieve tension between the Marleyans and the Eldians at Fort Salta, explaining that there are no Subjects of Ymir on Earth anymore and claiming responsibility for killing Eren, convincing Muller and all the Marleyan soldiers not to shoot all the Eldians present at the fort.
What Makes Him Inconsistent?[]
- Despite his generally pacifistic nature, he is far too lethal for NPG. Regardless of good intentions and remorse for this action, he still killed numerous citizens (including children) in Liberio while blowing up a military port.
- Manipulated Bertholdt and Reiner's feelings by lying to them about Annie. Even though it caused both of them a great amount of distress, he did it to save Eren from them, so it is a minor prevention.
