~ Anais to Gumball in "The Code." |
Anais Errrrrr Watterson is one of the three tritagonists (alongside Nicole and Richard) of Cartoon Network's The Amazing World of Gumball franchise.
She is the precocious and highly intelligent youngest child in the Watterson family, especially compared to her rather clueless older brothers, Gumball and Darwin. She is also the daughter of Richard and Nicole.
Anais is a short pink rabbit who attends Elmore Jr. High, being a grade above her brothers. She is among the more mature characters in the series and often serves as the voice of reason in the family. That said, she is not above involving herself in the family's misadventures and retains some childlike traits.
She is voiced by Kyla Rae Kowalewski.
Her Good Ranking[]
What Makes Her Admirable?[]

- In "The Pizza," she points out to her family that they had been mistreating Elmore's jack-of-all-trades, Larry Needlemeyer, after which they traverse through an apocalyptic Elmore to convince him to return to all of his jobs, which restores Elmore back to normal.
- In "The Lie," she helps Gumball maintain the illusion of the fictional "Sluzzle Tag" holiday so that Elmore's citizens will have something to smile about in January.

- In "The Buddy," she teams up with Jamie Russo to catch the Tree Librarian, who had infected all of the school's computers with viruses and even caved Bobert's head in.
What Makes Her Inconsistent?[]
- Like every member of the Watterson family, she is On & Off and participates in some villainous and criminal schemes from time to time:
- From the past in the episode "The Rival", she attempts to murder Gumball and Darwin to get more love from her parents
- In "The Finale," she helps her family wreak havoc all across Elmore in order to have reality reset to the status quo.
- In "The Copycats," she joins her family in trying to get their rival copycats to kill themselves by performing dangerous stunts, simply because the copycats were mimicking them on TV.
- In "The Outside", she helps her family abuse Frankie by making his visit at their home feel like a prison.
- In "The Nuisance," she helps her family turn Elmore into a disaster area by destroying property, causing chaos, and ultimately helping burn the entire town down.
- She is frequently an arrogant, snarky jerk, often insulting her brothers (and sometimes Richard) for their stupidity and antics. Although it is usually understandable or in jest, it is sometimes intended to be belittling. On rarer occasions, she can lose her temper.
- She can be mischievous, scheming or manipulative to get what she wants:
- In "The Remote," she tricks all of her family members into fighting with each other all day so she could discreetly keep the TV remote to herself and lock them outside of the house to watch her favorite program.
- In "The Password," in order to hog the computer for herself all day, she changes its password to "Anais" with the hint being "favorite child," upsetting Gumball and Darwin, who instead spend the day trying to win over Richard after believing he set the password.
- She resorts to violence when provoked and sometimes assaults people in Elmore for trivial reasons:
- In "The Castle," she chucks Harold Wilson through a window and into their house after he continuously pokes her. While it is understandable due to him being annoying, it was still a violent way to deal with him.
- In "The Tape," she hits Gumball in the face after being annoyed with him and Darwin using her for their "Baby Anais" video segment.
- In "The Pest," she spends all day planning to beat up Billy Parham due to him bullying her at school, and by the end of the episode, she kicks him with a running jump, even though he had expressed regret for his actions.
- In "The Fury," she punches Yuki Yoshida in the shin after she taunts Nicole and Richard.
- In "The Line," she begins attacking Pantsbully while he's on a motorcycle and pushes him, causing him to crash into a truck.
- Her desperate longing to have a friend sometimes results in excessive behavior:
- In "The Parasite," she becomes extremely clingy towards Jodie Mallard, her one-sided friend at school, obsessing over and bothering her all day until the two of them literally fuse together as a parasitic entity, and Anais does not fully learn her lesson by the end.
- In "The Guy," she is seen ferally harassing and attacking various students at school while looking for a friend, with Tobias Wilson even remarking how "she's hunting again."
